I have had some near calls with the headphones aswell. I am always standing up with the headphones in my ear and the PSP gets dragged off of lap/table etc and dangles in mid air for a split second before I come to my senses and grab the damn thing. I think the supplies headphones cable is way too short.

Dropped my PSP for the first time this morning. It was in its soft case but landed exposed corner first (of course) on the floorboards. Rushed out the house without testing it, but have just stopped typing to fire it up. Still works and not a mark on it *phew*.
Also had a similar disaster with my DS a while back involving a carton of raw eggs and a nasty drop. The DS ended up with a couple of chips on the casing, but works fine.

my gf managed to rag mine off of a 3-4ft table while it was charging by accidently grabbing my psp power cable instead of the cable she was looking for...I was pissed, but not a scratch! thank god! However mine has developed a very small greyish blob at the top of the screen about 1cm in width and about 1mm thick, im pretty sure its where the side of the lcd meets with another material, possibly an air bubble, fortunately you dont notice it much unless you look very closely!

Think of it as personalisation?...

Think of it as personalisation?.... Luckily it survived its suicide attempt and is still working fine to this day. A nice big crack/scratch in all 4 corners of the Pod though, It now lives in a case
