What is it with not giving Resi Evil 4 a 10? What do you people want, it's the best game ever made!

Did Games TM review StarFox yet? Only had it for a few days and I've already got bored and gone back to RE4 on Pro mode. 6/10 at best I'd say, and that's being generous. If the Arwing bits weren't there it'd be a 4/10.

Probably the same thing as every other review...no anamorphic widescreen and no strafing

The only valid criticism I have of this game is 16bit texturing gives it a lot of problems with glitching textures. But that's a worthwhile sacrifice, IMO and not a real problem with the game

I think the main reason everyone gave it a 9 is because it's not really the sort of game you can play again and again.

I realise The Mercenaries has excellent replayability, but I can't imagine very many people want to play through the main game more than two or three times.

I appreciate that point, but it's still 2 or 3 times more than I want to play through most games.

I feel RE4 tails off too much towards the end to warrent a ten. The opening half is probably up there, but the final half isn't nearly as good. The Island in particular is notibly weaker than the rest of the game, and is a disappointingly generic end to what was an astonishing ride.

I agree that the Island was a bit of a mixed bag. It started off poor but I really enjoyed the laboratory level where the regenerators were first encountered, then there was that bit with the helicopter which I didn't like, it seemed more like a war game and didn't gel well with the rest of the game.

Seriously, we did not find out about that guy's website via this place. It's been in my favourites for ages. I think one of my MSN contacts showed it to me initially.

Well I've already finished this game 3 times, I'm now playing Mercs and haven't even touched Assignment Ada or pro. mode. I've probably put in 40 hours and I haven't even scratched the surface IMHO

I can't even remember the last game I played through TWICE There is nothing wrong with replay value, for me anyway

But it isn't the sort of game you can just tinker with, in my opinion they're the games that deserve 10's. Look at Halo, Goldeneye, Mario 64 and ZELDA OoT, these are games that allow you to just play around for ages trying new stuff out months after the game was completed, and still have fun doing it. The way RE4 is structured doesn't allow much of this, it's just not that sort of a game.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic game, the best I've played in a long time, but it's not quite immortal.

got my sub copy today, got it out the bag to find the sleeve allripped at the top and botton, and creased very poor condition (normally the mag will have a rip on the spine, but this was really bad )
why can't they just stick a couple of bits of card either side of the mag to protect it, surley it would only cost a few pence.
