No new RoadRash anymore. Why ?

When my cousin shown me this game (in '92 something like that), i was really impressed, I knew I wanted THIS game : a free road, with competition, with punch-up, with trafic, with an interactive story ... What the hell could I want more ? All the things I would do in real life, but can't.

So I asked him to trade this game for another of my playlist, he took CrackDown, and I got out with the best jewel-carbridge of my life, I finished the game again and again and again.

Then later, EA launched RoadRash 2, 3, a good 2D episode on several consoles, and two 3D games on PS1 which I found really good too (despite many peeps don't like them).

No need to say this is my favorite game ever (with Sega Rally), I would trade all my games for a new one, I can't imagine what they could do with the powerfull mahines we have now : free road, fast town, grassy hills, deep forests ...arrrrghhh ( i m dead)

So pleaaase, Electronic Arts, move your fat ***, give me my dose, i can't wait anymore, an episode on Gamecube was announced, but canceled it seems, I just want this game so I can play in cockpitview on my deckchair punching nasty faces with my baseball bate, a car incoming in front of me and police trying to grab my shirt, paying attention to not strike my friends by the way. And this for a year or two.

What is your experience with this game ? Is there anyone as much addicted as I am ? Do you think there is only one hope to see and hear this hardrocking game anymore ? :cry

Here is a recap of motorcycles games mentioned in this topic :

    -MotoGP 1 & 2 & 3 soon From THQ(Xbox & PC) (average 85% on GameRankings)
    -MotoGP 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 soon From Namco (PS2) (average 77%)
    -MotoRacer 1 & 2 & 3 From Atari(PS1 & PC) (average 75%)
-Speed Kings From acclaim(PS2 & GC & XB) (average 65%)
-Harley Davidson & L.A. riders From Sega (arcade) I want to play this game !!!

-We are seeking the name of :

an arcade game about 4/5 years ago made by atari or midway... it was essentially the same thing but slightly more focused on racing.

it had a whole slew of tracks with varying shortcuts weapons and characters (i remember you could be about 5 different skeleton models which was awesome). i can't for the life of me remember what it was called though... i enjoyed it a fair bit, reminded me of the rush series of games.

I loved the 3DO version. Killer soundtrack dude!! \;;/, (attempt at horn hand signal thing)

EA probably aren't arsed as there's too much money to be made out of licensed games with real people in that they can market with minimal effort.

You give me no hope MasterChief
I'll surely give a try to MGP, on wich plateforme is it the best ? But it will not fill my stomach for long, I'm hungry of road wars , of open highways etc...

I tested MotoRacer 3 on PC, there is a trafic mode in Paris streets, it was cool, but not that fun too (but pretty entertaining in LAN).

Like the guy said 3DO version is pretty deffinitive, it's still suprising that despite EA's yearly retrash of all its IP's, this is the one they ditched.

Sorry to put the idea of a sequel down mate, Im just addicted to MotoGP 2 and Outrun 2 at the mo .

Oh and although Namco's MotoGP 2 on PS2 is good Climax's MotoGP 2 on Xbox is the finest. I ride a bike and MotoGP 2 gets the feeling of riding down to a tea. Exciting, rough, frighting and satisfying. Fan rant over!

Back on topic EA own the rights I think so you may see a sequel soon on next gen hardware but it's been quiet for so long. But considering the mass appeal for Need for speed maybe they'll resurect this as well?

Ive had a quick nostalgic memory so had a quick search. I dont rember the Mega Drive version looking this good: *EDIT: 3DO version, got it*

              Is the 3DO version better than PS1 & Saturn's one ?

I love and have all 3 of the MD games and 3d and jailbreak on the PS1. The road rash franchise has got to be one of my favorite ever. The second one just had everything, a challenge, great soundtrack and was just great fun.

I might have to buy myself a 3DO to play it's version.

I really wish someone could carve an update out of the Burnout 3 engine. Surely it wouldn't be that hard?

I'd like to see what the SSX team could do with Road Rash.

Probably the only team within EA that have any notions of creativity and ingenuity.

Me and my mates used to play this after school, racing round on our "bikes" trying to kick each other off.

I don't think there was a better version than the 3DO one mind...

I remember playing that **** on Megadrive. It was fun.

The old-skool Road Rash games have a kinda eighties-ish look to them now. But I can't think of a better series to put through EA's Cool-o-matic. The EA marketing machine could easily bring RoadRash back as 'urban', 'street', 'underground' and all the rest of it. Like they did with NFS.

Make the setting similar to San Andreas, include appeal to the garage-tuner culture. Sorted, "RoadRash Underground" is topping the charts.

That's the problem. Seriously, it would become all free-roaming and supposedly "sandbox" and really what it needs is the tight focus of racing. It'd be overcomplicated with daft combos and have a very expensive licensed soundtrack.

                            It'd be Torque: The Game...

                              Good point.

I'm being optimistic that EA can 'bling' up their game for the massmarket without simultaneously making it ****.
