    Xbox Dance Games?

Does anyone have any recommendations for Dance games for the XBox?

Was thinking of getting Dance:UK, but don't seem to be able to find extra dance mats to buy anywhere - plenty of ones for PS2 but not for XBox!

2 player mats is essential! :-)

    Cheers,

DanceUK is not too good from what I hear.
Dancing Stage Unleashed is afaik the only incarnation of DDR for Xbox, DDR is pretty tried and tested.

Any recommendations on dance mats to use for Dancing Stage Unleashed? Or are they all pretty much the same?

going on what i've read on ddr websites, soft mats are pants unless modified by mounting on board and topping it with plastic.

        *edit, here:

that website should be a start, i'll assume they've used pretty much every mat available.

Compared to proper arcade style mats the soft ones are crap but you'll find they do the job just fine and don't cost you stuid amounts of money like the ASCs do. I've always used a soft mat ever since DDR 2nd mix on the Dreamcast and complete lack of fitness aside I can do pretty well on most of the harder stuff, you just need to remember & tape the thing down so it doesn't slide all over the place.

The X-box isn't the ideal platform for these type of games tbh, Dancing Stage Unleashed is the only one in PAL land worth bothering with (avoid Dance UK like the plague,I'm sure Ed Andersen could fill you in as to why) however DS Unleashed 2 which is already available in the states is on it's way over here, Pump It Up Exceed (bundled with it's own mat) is on it's way to the X-Box in the states soon as well but as to wether it'll find its way to these shores is uncertain.

Ideally if you want to play games like this then a modded PS2 is the most viable option

I've used some (soft) redoctane mats for quite some time (ps2) and they're fine. I can cata some songs without killing myself which is the main thing. Oh, I have wooden floors if that makes a difference.
I don't think there's a need to mod them unless you want to feel hardcore.
