MX vs ATV Unleashed MP mode.

does anyone own this game yet and can tell me about the MP game modes?

ATV2 (from Rainbow Games, creators of MX vs ATV Unleashed) made the most awesome multiplayer Ice Hockey game for ATV2, which involved, oddly enough, Ice Hockey on ATVs. the puck was ultra slidey, and the game was just brilliant fun even with only two people. it's one of those things that people who have played it know that it's pure awesomeness, but everyone else is unaware even though they are told by all those that have played.

Climax Studios were given ATV3 (and also the PSP version of ATV, which made me cry), and they raped not only the main game but the multiplayer games, removing all the slidey physics and screwing the control system.

my copy of MX vs ATV Unleashed should ship any day now, but I'm just curious if anyone else already has a copy and can tell me what MP game modes are included if any at all (fingers crossed) and what they are like compared to ATV2. my faith in Rainbow is such that I've pre-ordered without bothering to find out because Motocross Madness 1, 2, ATV1, 2 and MX Unleashed have all been awesome, and even after my disgust at ATV3 after pre-ordering and finding the garbage that was delivered to me I await the arrival of MX vs ATV with excitement. at least until my PSP turns up

Well it just scored 9.3 at IGN today. Where are you ordering from? It's not out in the Weds until the 23rd (VG+) or 24th in stores.

I'm just happy someone else besides me wants this game/understands how good Rainbow is at imbuing incredible tactile feel into its games!

Out here next Wednesday, $39.99 off the shelf, definite buy. In ATV Offroad Fury I used to just switch on freestyle mode and drive all over those massive environments pulling tricks and monkeying with the physics. Now it looks like I can do that with a friend on Xbox Live. Plus all the golf cart, dune buggy, dirt bike craziness.

AND...

In 1080i.

It's so bought.

Are you sure it's 1080i though? IGN only mentions 480p Support.

MX Unleashed was 1080i.

Team Xbox specifically mentions 1080i for MX vs ATV. Good article too, very informative.

Ah right, thought that was odd considering that MX Unleashed was 1080i.

IGN should really update the game features for the Xbox article while they're copying over the bloody PS2 review. Lazy cocks.

Not once does that guy ever convey what it's actually like to play the game. And a quarter of it is about a soundtrack I'm going to disable within 30 seconds.

I don't think he even mentions stunts at all. Pure art. The art of blather.

Well it's hard writing for a site but even so..... back to the topic on hand.

I know. it's actually worse that. I honestly think that I could have written the same review, and I haven't actually played the game. it reads like the review of someone that has picked up the press release, the soundtrack list, and played the previous games and just said 'more of the same', move along. I don't read anything about what it's like to control the other vehicles, or multiplayer modes or if the tracks are good or bad (some of the ATV2 tracks were a little bland).

both my ps2 and xbox are modded, which means I haven't set my xbox up for Live! play yet, but regardless, after playing ATV 1 and 2 on ps2 (duh) and then getting MX Unleashed for xbox, the xbox controls felt too sensitive, and I didn't like it as much as ATV1/2. I won't have any friends with either console that are going to get this game, so I've ordered it from videogamesplus.ca and I'll play by myself or split screen, which I know is more fun that the IGN review ... well, hints at is all they really do. a widescreen tv helps.

and i still don't know about the MP modes. imagine ATV vs Monster Truck Ice Hockey hahaha. I'm just glad Rainbow got this game back. I'll still dark that Climax got the PSP ATV game. they weren't even proven with the Offroad Fury license at that point in time, and then ended up failing miserably. a Rainbow ATV game on PSP would have been an instant pre-order.

(also, I love the ATV1 and 2 soundtracks, but the MX Unleashed one was terrible. no try-hard punk BS, please. in fact, no punk at all)

It seems they're releasing a week apart. I went to pick up Super Monkey Ball DX last night, and they had MX vs ATV Unleashed for the PS2 on sale, but only dummy boxes for the Xbox version.

Still haven't heard squat about any minigames Mark, I hope they're in there! Only six days to go.
