    First Official PSP firmware update!

For those of you interested Sony has released the firmware 1.5 for those who would like to update to the latest version supposedly this firmware is same as US version. I am going to wait to find out if this firmware does infact have more features or is simply more restrictive.

"Once downloaded, simply put the file in the "Game" folder on the PSP and run. The update changes the following:

-- Support for German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and Russian languages

-- Support to retain screen mode settings (For video stored on Memory Stick)

-- Support to allow resume play after recovery from sleep mode (For video stored on Memory Stick)

-- Support to allow resume play of audio tracks after recovery from sleep mode.

Please note that the update will not run if you have less than 50% remaining battery life and it's recommended to connect a power supply while charging." (PS2forums)

    Your link is broke.

    I'll give this a go.

You need to make an 'UPDATE' folder within the 'GAME' directory (and put the EBOOT.PBP file in there) in order to get it to work.

      Just installing it now.

But it's already locked at 222mhz, they'll release an update to unlock it later.

All installed without a hitch. Phew.

You can get the update by just doing Network Update in the OS (so long as you have WIFI access to the internet)

I connected my PSP via USB for the first time yesterday - do I create the 'Game' directory manually on the mem card or should it already be there?

I think its already there, but you will have to create the update folder manually

You might have to create the folders yourself. I had to create all of the folders for my memory stick. I think the best place for you to check out would be the psp video thread in q&a.

I've just had a look around & there's no 'Game' folder on my card, just a folder for my game saves. I assume I can just create a Game folder, then create the Update folder in that?
