    Joysticks

    There are no joysticks anymore!!!

What is your favourite joystick for past machines?

Mine is the Cheetah 125+, which came with 4 big red buttons and 8 microswitches. Was compatible with the Amiga and ST, but also had a last minute looking addition of another joystick plug (but in grey) so you could use it with the Spectrum and the Amstrad. The fire buttons all did the same thing, they weren't mapped to different keys, it was just the same thing.

It was a great little thing, and cost ?9.95 in shops but ?7.95 from Special Reserve.

Special Reserve is the old persons equivalent of Play.com, kids.

What other joysticks you remember and cherish you bored people?

And more importantly, why aren't you outside? It's a lovely day and you're all posting on an import gaming forum. Get a life you sad bastards.

Mine was for the C64. I can't remember the brand. But it was a small, tan box with a short stick for your thumb (much like current gen controllers) and two small, black buttons. It was by far the best controller for the C64.

I've never been able to find a picture of it online.

            "The Arcade"

This stick is amazing, I spend thousands of hours with that thing in my hand and it never wore out. Just seeing that pic makes me want to dig up my C64 again and go play Last Ninja and Giana Sisters .

Another one that deserves a mention:

Konix Speedking. This was even better than the Comp Pro for "waggling"

I had a Speed King analogue for my PC.

                It was ****.

That's what I had with my Atari 65xe. I always prefered the one that came with it though, except for when playing Panther.

The original Atari VCS joystick. Was great because it also worked on my C64.

I love quickjoy Topstar on Amiga and I had about 5 of it so far as I wrecked 3 of them with Grand Prix on Amiga due to aggressive breaking. It got better response for me for Swos.

Thankfully I've calmed right down when playing games
