    Mega64 DVD

Ok, so I love the videos on the website, they are ****ing brilliant, and I'm sure theres other m64 fans on here (if you dont know what I'm talking about, check out http://www.mega64.com/).

But has anyone bought the dvd? I very nearly gave into tempation earlier, but soon realised I havent heard any impressions of whether its actually any good or not. Its about $25 including shipping to the UK, and if its more of the same stuff on the web, it could be the best dvd ever made. Really.
Any views from people who have seen this would be awesome.

I bought the DVD and I've possibly never been more disappointed. The guys behind the show string the different sketches together with the premise that some mad games console developer has kidnapped the two 'hosts' of the show, and are using them as guinea pigs for his latest creation, the "Mega 64".

Some of their best work like the Shenmue sketch isn't even on the DVD, though there is a making of for it as an extra. The other thing that got to me was how far up his own ass Dereck (the guy who played Solid Snake) is. In the extras, he's constantly seen spouting out lines like "without me, there'd be no Mega 64" or simply throwing a temper tantrum which he does a number of times.

Do yourselves a favour guys and avoid, their best stuff is already available for download from their site.

I know what you mean. I wouldn't say it's an all out disappointment, because some of the sketches are ****ing legendary (River City Ransom, Super Dodgeball and Kid Icarus had me almost pissing my pants - not to mention the impromtu

Ryu Vs. Chun-Li fight, complete with Alpha 3 music The Dreamcast rap was kinda amusing too, thinking about it

), but the sketches are just too few and far between, wrapped in the utter **** that makes up the rest of the show.

Shenmue is on the DVD though, btw. Extended from the one on the website too, he buys some gatchapon XD. Episode 3, right after the opening credits and later in the episode too.

Hopefully series 2 will concentrate much more on the sketches; if they do then it'll be much more successful in my opinion.

I've definitely got a different version of the DVD from you then, mine only has episode 01 and 02 and the extras. Can't imagine why oddly; my flate-mate ordered a copy for himself and received exactly the same version as I did.

I was thinking of buying the DVD, but decided not to in the end. All of the best sketches are on the site already I think.

Agreed. I saw this thread, looked at the Shenmue video, and actually cried with laughter. I'm going to have to buy it now.

Guys, I would check what they're still selling first. I have a 2-disc, 5 episode version, but if Taka and his roommate only got a single disc version then something may be afoot. Gimme a sec and I'll photo my set.

Note "2-disc set" on 207. Sorry about the flash; I haven't found a way to turn it off on my camera unless I do a two shutter thing which blows.
