What did they have to say about Lego Star Wars? I completed it in under 4 hours, and to me that's unacceptable, depite the fact it's a charming, fun game.

After reading through the text, I reckon Edge got it bang on with God of War.

Didn't realise Haunting Ground was out over here this month either!

They said just that, - that it was charming, fun, pick up and play but lightweight.

For ?17 online it seems fair enough though.

It would have been worth it if the original trilogy had been included. IMO I'd rent this as you'll be done with it in a couple of days.

That depends. A big thing of why it got as much as it did was the fun of replaying levels with different characters, which adds a fair bit to the longevity. Besides, I'd much rather have a short game that is great fun while it lasts than a long one that isn't.

Wait and see. It's a lot of fun and whilst I was playing it I loved it and couldn't stop. However, once it's completed, I felt gutted. I went through a couple of levels with Darth Maul, but that novelty wares off quickly as it doesn't really affect the way the game plays. Sure if you want to collect all the bricks to make the special lego space ships, you could be playing this a lot longer, but I certainly didn't, and I doubt a lot will, have the enthusiasm to do that.

Except that when you put it into sleep mode, it then potentially ****s the game up - certainly for my Jap PSP, WipEout Pure automatically disables the autosave function and Everybody's Golf crashes after a short while (and that's after I've installed the firmware update which some have claimed fixes the problem).

Interesting point about PSP games, "not being portable". Sure the game can be put in sleep mode, but what have you acheived in that "portable moment"? Walked 3 miles towards a quest key, you haven't really acheived anything. Whereas more "portable-centric" games, aka Tetris, you can beat your highscore well before having to up your flies and wash your hands....bowels dependant.

But to my knowledge is doesn't have features which make Ridge Racers an excellent portable game IMO, such as being able to save your progress during a tournament so that you can pick up where you left off. Or being able to set how long you want a set of world tours races to be.

imo, this contention should be mandated as 'technical guidance' for all handheld title developers... STAT!

Another excellent Time Extend, brilliantly written and summing up all that is great about the game (which is something of a overlooked classic). TE has quickly established itself as the best part of the magazine for me.

edge has been a mixed bag for quite a while now (especially since cvg went **** 6yrs ago- i blame ed lomas for leaving) but its still the best videogame mag we have, othe mags out there are more content with giving away freebies rather then working on its content. Considering that the horribly average gamestm is the second best videogame mag around it kind of mirrors the current climate of the videogame market.

one of edge's best bits is awol- wheres redeye? and they again continue to wank over the psp (god why don't they just buy themselves some porn), and again they continue to write off the ds which is getting really old. The score in edge have been poor for a long time and this is no different, rumble fish is worth a 7 or 8 the mark of 6 should have been left for wipeout pure. I agree i loved vice city but andreas was not worth a 9 in a million years a 4 or 5 would have been more accurate.
