    E3 Rumour thread

Finally got to seeing my friend that works at Rare last week. I haven't seen him in ages as he's doing stupidly long hours to get stuff ready for E3 and 360 launch. He was meant to be going to E3 but due to deadlines he is unable to go, shame .

I was talking to him about what he's doing and trying to dig some info about up and coming titles. I then changed subject and started talking about cars, trying to wrong foot him and lull him into a false sense of security. He's hard work at times but i did manage to get him to talk about the Project Gotham 3 Demo he's seen running. Best of all though was a small matter of KI2!!!

Will probably end up on Xbox720

Any other E3 tidbits floating around that may not need it's own thread, post here.

All I want is PD0 to be shown and I'm a happy man. I'm in limbo between gens with just my PSP to keep me company, this E3 is going to be a bit special.

Here is a rumour that was on GameFAQs... so its not ture.

This article was recently posted earlier this week.

As the days get nearer to the E3 Expo in Los Angeles, the number of titles making their way out of the woodwork is becoming increasingly huge. One recently announced title that caught us in particular though is OutRun 2 SP, the follow up to last year's racing sleeper hit , OutRun 2. While all of the focus last fall fell on higher profile racing titles such as Burnout 3 and Need For Speed Underground 2, OutRun 2 quietly released in between to a score of rave reviews from critics. Reception from gamers wasn't as fortunate though as the title only received mediocre sales figures, but this wasn't enough to deter Sega from taking the series a step further.

A representative from Sega Europe had this to say, "OutRun 2 SP is already making a splash in the arcade markets in parts of Asia and Europe and we want to expand on this by bringing it home to a larger audience around the world. We were so impressed with the results of OutRun 2 given to us from our friends at Sumo Digital that we asked them if they wanted to come on board for another beautiful journey."

This is great news for gamers who enjoyed the first rendition of OutRun 2 and it gets even better as we are being promised more bonus material and extras than were in the first game. Let's just say that certain classic cars or tracks from old Sega games may not be in hibernation for much longer. We will be sure to report more on this next month once we gets a hands on demonstration of this title.

so is Outrun 2 SP the same as Outrun 2 but with some extras or is there any reason to get both?

Outrun 2 SP has 15 more stages, and enhanced graphics on the original 15. I would love this game to come to Xbox... but I really doubt it will?.

But on the bright side if it is on the Xbox I?ll get it for free.

flip, if outrun2 sp does come out i'd be very happy. i have played it recently and i love it. especially the way the cars disappear if you smack into them they only thing that stopped me playing longer was that i was on the left side which had the speakers turned up REALLY loud. it gave me a headache and ruined the experience somewhat, but the game itself was sweet.

Aren`t sumo meant to be converting toca for the psp? Unless they`ve hired quite a few more people in recent time, i can`t see them having the resources to convert toca and outrun at the same time?

Well lets hope Sega are doing Outrun.

I expect Outrun2SP for the next gen machines. The Xbox conversion of OR2 was difficult enough and suffers from a few problems- so imo there is no way the PS2 or PSP could host a conversion!

i thought the ps2 couldn't handle resi 4 after playing it through, but they seem to be going ahead with that (although from what i read it's running into a few problems).

considering the arcade outrun2 has 512mb ram all to itself, and then sumo squeezing that into less than 64mb of ram on the xbox, i'd love to see how it manages on the ps2's 32mb... mind you, as it's proven so far, that damn ps2 is full of surprises!

but anything's possible if enough money/resources are thrown at it. i wonder what sammy'll think though

If OutRun 2 ST comes to Xbox I'll be a happy man. I've played it a fair bit in the arcade and it's astonishing. Porting it to Xbox will be no more difficult I expect than the original OutRun 2. It's just a new set of track graphics basically, it's still on the same Xbox based Naomi hardware.

Xbox is the only platform for it that makes any sense. A PSP conversion sounds very far fetched, it would be an enormous amount of work and the game would have to be butchered to a terrifying extent to make it fit. No thanks.

As for E3, I really hope we'll get to see some Nintendo Revolution stuff. It already interests me far more than the other two and I am expecting some truly new ideas from Nintendo.
