I still haven't finished it yet. I keep replaying the trial level's over and over and getting distracted.

I just discovered the papillion suit. I want this suit bad. The only thing is, if I play it with the Mrs. around she'll think I'm a perv.

Don't you get the feeling that the Papillion suit won't make the final cut for the US release?

Anyway more stuff I noticed for beginners:

Even though they give you continues, like all Mikami games it goes against your coolness/toughness whatever if you use them.

At the end every point, continue, enemy destroyed is tracked and your average rank is given.

The Blackbird suit kicks ass. It even makes Normal mode palatable. Now what to do with all these extra points.

I wonder if how much energy effects anything or if its just another thing to upgrade.

No mention of Blackbird or Papillion. I'm sure Blackbird will be unlockable.

I got two of the first available suits (the original and the yellow one - sorry, bad with names) and maxed them out. Played another level or so (I am not sure how many, sorry) - no new suit. I didn't want the other suit, as it looked too average (the blue one with automatic fire), and was waiting patiently for the next levels of suit to appear.

Still nothing after some more training levels and another level, so I thought it might be activated when you bought all the suits available. SO! I buy the suit I don't want (the blue one, and I was right - it's not very good). Nothing. So I max it out *again*. Nothing. Couple more training levels. Nothing. By this point, I don't really want to spend any more of my hard-earned until the new suits appear, so I can work on raising their standards.

Eventually, I get the new suits, but I have no idea when they appeared, as I had done some training level, bought some continues and conpleted a regular level, all before I checked the suit buying section again.

The upshot of this long-winded post is: what are the criteria for unlocking suits????

Trust me man

Get yourself an ULTRA GUARDIAN (white/pink) - that'll sort you out till the first time you finish it. Then you will be given the BLACKBIRD, that suit is da lick until you get the pervy suit after finishing it again.

All I need in a suit is autofire + Pegasus, the rest is all trimmings (apart from Tengu )

Autofire + Pegasus Pro + Tengu Pro + Swan Pro = Dancing Death!

I think there are 3 stages of suits in the game. Standard are all available at the start, then you get updates of these after reaching a certain point in the game. The final upgrade comes near the end.

Then of course, you get the mega suits...

The Blackbird totally changes the game; it makes less of a challenge and more of an exercise in domination.

Yes the blackbird is the first suit you unlock and the Papillion is the next. I'm really starting to discover the greatness of Tengu.
