        Saur,

whats the compatability like with the cards? Do I have to start from scratch? I take it you won't be down at Oriental City!

        Sidez,

I'm doing the review, looks like they have added some kind of story mode to the home version, but you are right it is predom a head to head game. That is where it really shines.

Storymode is how the arcade mode plays too - it's just like the anime, it's all DEEP driving tactics covered in the series.

You can update your old Ver.1 (for free I think) to a ver.2 card but your old card will be void.

As for the home version, I'm getting it (already got the FF Wheel) but I agree, I'm not anticipating the game as much as I thought it would. Don't think the appeal of the game will transfer well to the home environment.

Pity it doesn't take an F-zero approach compatability with home memory cards, I see this as a way forward for the Arcade scene.

I seriously feel that Initial D will get boring very fast at home unless they put in a truly SICK story mode with AI to rival VF4e's challengers - but even then it might not be all that. Initial D in the arcade is very social, for the first time since DDR/Pump I'm seeing the same number of girls playing as guys - and playing people for cards and money is just class!

True, legend of the street or whatever it is called. I hope the home version comes with a lot more extras mind. I want proper Anime clips as well as still frames, Split screen and iLink racing. And a proper ghost mode, music demo, replays, character bios, artwork, 3D maps of the courses etc etc. Basically I want it ALL

That's what would make the game truly sick!

The game system is totally sound, all the tactics they talk about in the series can be applied to the game (like Guttering for example) - but they need to add a lot more to keep people playing at yard.

Havn't seen the home version yet but if it dosn't have all this WHY NOT! Then the arcade version could be left for challenges...

Can you imagine if they put in an option for a solid ghost race where you have to overtake the ghost and you can't drive through it. Now that would be cool.

How about a GUMTAPE DEATHMATCH!!! option where steering is restricted. That should sort out the men from the boys.

Please Sega don't let me down...

Is it true that ver.2 has a secret mode where an image of a cup of water in the cup holder appears on screen, and you have to not spill it?
