I LOVE DMC3!!!! one of my fav game.
I also really like the first one but i've never played DMC2.
Is it REALLY that bad? how could the developer **** up that badly?

I watch some vids of 2 on gamespot and it does look a bit odd Dante is VERY floaty, almost 0-G like.
    And who's this Lucille?

      Heroness!

The added Dantage makes the PS2 version worth getting even if you've got the Cube one - Dante is SAVAGE in VJ!

I bet you find it dull cos you havent explored what you can do with it yet, Devil May Cry 3 and Viewtiful Joe share LOADS of gameplay systems.

Saurian, that Eurogamer video. I don't suppose you have it hosted for direct download? Bit Torrents are so bleeding akward with having to set up ports and stuff on my router, letting in god knows what :|

Really, 50Hz makes every action-based games bad.
Don't know if DMC has 60hzPAL... I think the 3rd did.

The PAL conversion of DMC is slow & has enormous borders - 'tis to be avoided for sanity's sake.

                Should you by DMC?

                NO!

It will make other well respected games seem easy and shallow.

If you must buy it then make sure you play God of War first, trust me on this

So the conslusion is buy DMC 1 in Japanese. No button butchery and you get better box art or book or both. Correct me if i'm wrong on the box or book thing but that is usually the case. I only own the Japanese vers

Arghhh.... I just spent about 20 minutes typing my impressions of both games and suddenly the browser goes back and everything is deleted!!! Well anyway, here's the short version:

Devil May Cry arrived in the post a few days ago and I spent a couple days playing the crap out of it. Upon completion (but even before that point really), I realized that I didn't really like the game, mostly because I thought it was quite similar to resident evil (a series I despise quite seriously) both in terms of style and camera. In the end, I wasn't very satisifed with it.

However, I ****ing love.... Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening. This game is pure genius. It feels much more like a proper action adventure game with an adjustable camera this time around! The story I thought was great, the cutscenes fantastic... over the top, but still fantastic (my favorite probably being the one where

Dante runs down the tower killing the fiery birds left and right

) and the soundtrack is superb. FUN FUN FUN. I just can't praise this game enough. It has a pretty damn steep learning curve and based on what I've read before, I was really worried I wouldn't be able to brave through it. However, I just finished the game on easy and will be starting on normal soon... I'm seriously addicted. I do have a couple questions that I've been meaning to ask, and hopefully someone could help me out here:

                    1) How could demons exist in the human world if the gateway to the demon world hasn't been opened (until a much later time in the game)?

                    2) How did the tower of teme-ni-gru just appear out of nowhere? Or was it summoned by Vergil and Arkham?

                    3) Is it possible to delete any save files in the game? I can't find any option to do so in the game.... I want to delete 9 of the 10 save files I have and only keep the current one.

                    4) Is level 3 the max. for all styles? And why doesn't anything happen when I use either the doppelhanger or quicksilver style?

Would be grateful if someone could answer these for me.

I can answer #4 for you. Level 3 is the limit for all styles (although you cant level up Doppelganger or Quicksilver). Both those styles need you to have devil trigger magic before they can be activated.

Good to hear your feeling it mate
