    Game Proud

Have any of you got games that are extremely hard to get or are out of print in your collection, and know yourself that your very fortunate to have such a game/s in your collection. Some of mine are:

Rez - I'm just glad to own such a title (original japanese version), it's already reaching crazy price's for mint/sealed copy's on ebay. The boxart, music, and gameplay, all top class.

Ico - In my opinion the must have title for the PS2, your collection is not complete without it! If i had to describe this game to a blind man, that word would be...beautiful. I find myself in a fortunate position to own the original japanese version.

Jet Set Radio Future - A true classic of this generation of gaming. The reason i put this title here is because i searched high and low (for sometime) for a sealed copy of the PAL version. I'm well chuffed to have this.

Otogi - A game that seems to pass by a lot of gamers (you could, if you will, call this the Xbox version of P.N.03). It's a class game, just look at it's ratings (Edge 8/10, when they knew what they were talking about, unlike now). Again a rare game to come by now.

Onimusha Box Set - What more could you want, all three definative versions of the game in one box. No ****e english voiceovers here. I don't know the availability of the box set now, but still nice to have.

Resident Evil 4 Collectors Edition - In my opinion the best game on the Gamecube. I got his from ebay sealed not only because it's a first rate game, but also because there was only 48,000 in production, i have 23,420. I bet some lucky bastard has 00001.

These are just some of mine, what about other gamers out there. Hey, maybe someone out there has a version of Shinrei Jusaishi Taromaru for the Sega Saturn that their proud to own...i know i would be.

I got my PAL copy of Rez in GAME brand new for ?5 in the sale....
It's impossible to get Ico at any reasonable price now.
PN03 was my fave game of 2003, but I was bored stiff by Otogi - weird, cos in theory I should have loved it.

Anyway, I've got a lot of the DC shooters, from Border Down onwards, but only the normal editions - the special editions seem to go for silly money with little extra e.g. pysvariar2's dog tags.

    I've got a C64 lightgun.. wooo

Most of the stuff I'm proud to own are copies of good games rather than anything particularly rare, e.g. 1080 on the N64, chu chu rocker on the DC.

        good thread!

train simulator real - the keihin express (ps2)

Brilliant train simulator similar to densha de go. I've also got the official mascon controller to play it with!

        jet de go! 2 (ps2)

Taito passenger airplane arcade simulator. My most played game right now.

        drummania 1, 2nd mix + 3rdmix (ps2)

My favorite bemania series that uses the guitar and drum controller. i have the official drum controller and a 3rd party guitar controller.

densha de go! pro 2, ryoio-ren, shinkansen + final (ps2)

        simply pure bliss!

        other games worth mentioning.....

rez, kinniku man 2, tokyo bus guide, amplitude, frequency, gitaroo-man, gradius v, pilot ni narou! 2, disaster report.

The only Games that I own that is properly rare is a PAL copy of Castlevania:SotN, with an excellent condition artbook and music CD.

The following games are ones which are not exactly 'R@R3', but I do enjoy having them around and playing them:

          - PS1 PAL Bust-A-Groove
          - PS1 PAL The Unholy War
          - PS1 PAL Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo (seriously pleased with this one, I spent years trying to find it only to buy it at a computer fair for ?15, and it was in perfect condition - Even the manual was still rigid)
          - DC PAL Street Fighter Alpha 3 (it didn't have a front insert, but at ?7 it was rude not to grab it)
          - PS2 PAL Guilty Gear X2 (this is pretty invalid now that #Reload has been released on consoles, but it's still a fab game and is reasonably hard to come by)

I've got C:SotN too - spent ages and ages hunting for a copy for less than ?60, then met up with a friend who I hadn't seen in years who had two copies both in mint condition with the book and CD. He gave me one of them for nothing.

            Yay.

Although if I'd been a girl, I'd probably have slept with him after that.

Don't think it's rare, but I'm glad I've got the original Alundra - great game, overlooked by many. And the limited edition of Fire Pro Wrestling Z that came with the hardback book. Can't understand it, being in Japanese, but I'm glad I've got it all the same.

My PAL N64 copy of Paper Mario is probably my proudest gaming possession. Still in mint condition and despite paying ?40 for it new from Amazon it is still a nice reminder of how chunky N64 cartridges got together with the book sized multilanguage manual.

I also have a copy of ICO I picked up from Game for ?15 a few months back that is a bit battered (rought edges, red pen on the barcode and remains of the sticker on the front) but its complete with art cards and works so I'm not that bothered.

Not quite so rare but love them anyway are Metal Gear Solid GBC, Skies of Arcadia Legends and my Zelda Collectors disk. I also have all the GBA Castlevania games (genuine copies as well) which I'm quite proud of.

I had SOTN way back when i had my PSone (1997), it was a PAL version but didn't include the art book or music CD, just the game and box. Anyway i traded the game in (i can't remember what for) and i can honestly say i haven't seen another PAL version of the game again. I do own the NTSC/U version now (best of, with the ****ty green label), but hey, it's a great game.

Samba De Amigo with maracas is extremely hard to get now, PAL f--k i didn't know such a version existed, thought this was a japanese release only. Great game for when you've got mate's round, even better when you get a few jars in you.

I bring out Taiko no Tatsujin too when i have people round and give it John Bonham style.

I can't wait for Guitar Hero, i need 2 of those bad boys. The sound tracks on that game, so far, are awesome.
