Ah thats the best bit indeed, also its fun when you get the Reps come in and show you stuff you have already seen or even played sometimes, i just have to mention it do the job for them hehehehe.

Worst parts of the job include the boring, slow summer months, supremely idiotic customers, dodgy customers, our crap returns policy (No refund unless faulty) and my growing disinterest in actually playing games. After eight ours of working with the things I find I?m no longer interested in playing them when I get home. Have other people who worked with games found this ?
      (sorry for the long post.)
Oh man the customers we get at times......GULP.
Know exactly what you mean about falling out of playing games, Its taken me about a year to get back into the mould of playing games like i used to. Now that i have xbox live i tend to be playing on that more, its cool chatting with similar minded people who love their games and also shooting them in the face with the Battle Trifle.

My boss is going to Birmingham on Thursday for a special presentation on the PSP console and the launch. We've been selling them since Christmas.

As for those demo guys. They always seem to come in on my days off these days. Perhaps it was because of my brutally honest answers to their marketing questions afterwards. Questions such as "So how many copies of Army men for PS2 do you expect to take in ?" or "How would you rate this game out of 5 ?"

Probably not, no. I can't remember the exact stats, but it's something like the 15th-best selling game at Christmas still outsells the number 1 game in June.

i also worked in an import shop in 1993-1994. that was pure bliss. my boss was a likeable chump and I rank that job as the finest job I ever did. we sold all kinds of rare and ingenius gadgets (stacks of magicomss behind the counter). All those amazing snes and super famicom games too. I can remember when final fantasy 3 came in - what a day.

The second floor was filled with retro arcade machines like haunted castle and track and feild.

How many times has someone asked about a mario game for the megadrive or a sonic game for the snes?

Ive usually found that theres a lot of pricks working in videogame shops..

                  GAME and Gamestation.

GAME I rarely ever go in any more as they are the worst, cocky, arrogant, not interested in games, I wanted a Gamecube and the Zelda Platinum GC pack had just come out (the console bundle with wind waker)

Supposedly limited edition, this was the one I wanted, specifically because it had wind waker in it, when I went in to get one and I asked if they had it, the guy was like "No weve run out of that one, but get the regular one instead"

I said I didnt want it, and did they have any in a neighbouring town. He said it wasnt possible to check and then the manager bounced in from behind the till saying to me "Just because its limited edition doesnt mean its going to be worth more in a few months"

What a cock! I told him I knew that and I wanted it because it was platinum and had the game I want in it, why would I pay more to buy it seperately 39.99

Went home and rang up another game shop, went and picked it up no problems, even got a better deal, got a discount on some extra stuff (mem card etc)

Also my local GAME refuse to allow me student discount "because this town isnt a university town" - so when Im at home, if I want to get their discount ive got to go to a university town.. bs..

Gamestation - saw a rare master system game the other week and bought it, very very rare, was only about ?4 or something, championship ice hockey, took it to the till and got ripped because it was an old hockey game... twats
