Had the delay email having just checked my home email. The despatch mail came through this morning. Looks like a Saturday delivery then...

hey i just got this but i'm having a bit of trouble as it's all in japanese.
just to check, the time given above the current time is the time you need to arrive at the next bus stop, i assume?
if so, do you have to get to it around that time or can you be super-early?
i understand the deductions i've been getting have been for missing the bus-stop a bit (i see the word 'miss') when parking, accelerating or braking too quickly, not announcing the next stop, going over the speed limit and i just realised i have to indicate before pushing off or else i lose 8 points for that.

i'm on this bit now where i'm approaching a bus-stop but there's a crossing just before it. i get there at around 17 mins whereas the time limit is 18 mins, and i stop at the crossing, then i lose 80 points...

i've been checking gamefaqs and there's one for the game on dc which seems to translate ('scuse the pun) pretty well to tbg2 that i'm playing, except for a few things here and there.

EDIT: lol i realised why i kept losing 80 points - it's cos i stopped at the crossing fine, but I was bang in the middle of a junction so stopping the traffic

i've found if i get 8 points for pushing off, it's usually if i haven't indicated right before moving, even though i usually just stay in the bus lane for a few seconds before actually changing lanes. also, changing lanes too quickly loses points. here's the list from the dc version and most of it applies to tbg2 (although tbg2 has some new ones like going more than 5mph over the speed limit):

            * Accelerating or decelerating too quickly 5 points
            * Not telling the peeps where they are headed 5 points
            * Changing lanes too quickly 8 points
            * Changing lanes without indicating 10 points
            * Failing to indicate 10 points
            * Speeding 10-30 points
            * Using the wrong lane 15 points
            * Driving away with the door open 15 points
            * Going on the right (as opposed to left) side of the road 30 points
            * hitting a car or peep! (Usually game over!) 60-999 points
            * Crossing at a red light 70 points
            * Going the wrong way (Green arrows point you the right way) 999 points
            * Going off the road 999 points

            - i haven't managed to get 999 points yet!

Thanks for that list, that will be useful. I must have checked Gamefaqs at some point because I have the original on DC and PS2.

they're shocking - the passengers are sprites that make saturn graphics look like ps3.

it's dc roots are obvious, but it's still a fantastic (and extremely challenging, at least in japanese it is) game, and i love it to bits. the graphics and overall style have grown on me, but it's probably aimed at kids as the title music tracks are all plinky-plonky, and the colours are bold

if i had to describe the graphics in one word, i'd probably say 'functional'.

Lol, i might wait for it to drop in price.

Is it at least better looking than the DC version?

It must have some improvements being a sequel?

i never played the dc version, but the graphics appear to me to be dc-like - maybe there are more vehicles on the roads, and roadside detail may be increased a bit, but it still feels like a dc game, graphically.

the biggest problem i have with it, and one reason i'm hunting down the dc version, is because the acceleration/braking are analogue and on the ps2, it's really annoying to have to squeeze R1 all the way down to get max acceleration. on the dc at least the triggers have more travel so it'd feel better.

the other reason is because there's a dc version with the coolest vg name i've ever seen:

"Tokyo Bus Guide Featuring a Beautiful Conductor"

                      oh my flipping days
