    Strange Places to Game

Gamespy have an article about some guys who climbed up Everest, taking a DS with them most of the way.

I must admit to taking my GBA SP up Mt Fuji last year. Climbed during a thunderstorm with heavy wind, and barely made it to the top. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of me breaking it out up there - we were all too busy freezing!

Where's the strangest/most EXTREME (cue EA soundtrack) place you have played a game?

Not exactly EXTREME, but I was mildly surprised to find someone sitting cross-legged on the floor deep in Zelda on the SP when I saw Nine Inch Nails in Brixton last night.

"Weak Tie-In #243" Perhaps pathetically trying to give strength to the bollox rumour that NIN performed the Theme from Zelda live once.

The other day I had a go on Castlevania Adventure on the GB whilst having a dump.

Playing on the crapper is hardly unusual, is it, Mr. S? Some of the best WonderSwan experiences I've had have been in the water closet.

              I like my WonderSwans dirty.

Besides which, nobody else ever touches them.

I just typed out the phrase "phew, that's a relief". But the pun is too horrible to contemplate.

"To Game" is actually a perfectly valid verb. Its usage began with gambling.

You forgot, "so NERRRR!" on the end.

it might be valid, but it sounds incredbly pretentious when discussing videogames!

Well, whatever, strange places to play games then.

Recently I tinkered with my PSP in the Gyeonghuigung Palace in Seoul, and at the Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon ... Lumines on both occasions.

The palace was deserted at the time (literally, there was just myself, the GF and one guard at the main gate) so we were able to wander around the royal chambers and sit in the huge courtyards for an hour or two completely undisturbed. Quite an amazing experience on it's own considering it's right in the centre of the city ~

The wall of the Fortress is something like 5 kms long, and there are little bastions and scenic pavilions scattered all around ... perfect for the occasional hi-score battle ^^

I've got a bunch of pictures ... I'll try upload one or two sometime.

                            S.
