Is that a photoshop job or a real poster?

As far as I can tell, it's a real poster - I got it from here http://www.megagames.com/news/html/c...lovex360.shtml. Rumour has it that it is an official PR poster - However, we all know how reliable internet rumour is.

Can't possibly be real- MS would never be so outrageously stupid as to use swastika imagery as a marketing tool. How many potential customers could a nazi symbol alienate? Just a stoopid internet fake.

Wow, I didn't even realise that.
It is real, I got the full res version off their PR site during e3 this year, here it is:

Yeah - I didn't read the top post properly; a bit too early in the morning for me.

Thats still a stupid design though which could offend a lot of people. Of all the symbols they could come up with, why on earth have they gone with that one?

All they have to do is reverse the image and they'd have a Buddhist symbol instead. It's a called a Manji I think. (The Nazis swiped it and changed it into the swastika, so I've heard)

Yup, obviously the marketing people didn't think that one all the way through- stupid thing to let slip.

Not quite. The swastika (a Sanskrit word) predates Nazism by a few thousand years, and is still very commonly used in India in that same orientation. Ironically, in India the reversed swastika is considered "evil". In many other Eastern countries, both the normal and reversed versions are used (both are manji), but more recently with a preference for the latter to avoid the Nazi link.

Still, it's not exactly the most appropriate of pictures to use when advertising in the West.
