    Arcades question

Are UK arcades allowed to run foreign games cabs? I ask this because when I was in Cornwall recently, the site I was on clearly had a handful of cabinets with Japanese language subtitles (or certainly asian text of some description), such as Outrun, HOTD 3, and Star Wars Trilogy. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

The SFIII: 3rd Strike cab in Manchester is JPN. All the SA's are in kanji or whatever you call it.

The F355 machine in a bowling alley near me is a JPN machine too. Complete with VMU slot and everything.

I would think it's no more "wrong" than us buying JP console games?

They run the risk of being prosecutedt to the full extent of the jam.
But I expect the chances of that ever actually happening are close to zero.

          quality!

But seriously - actual UK versions of untold arcade games either just dont exist or are inferior to the Japanese originals, operators who import are usually the rare few that know what they're doing.

One day....in a distant time.....we'll get an import VF4 Final Tuned in London....the players would probably have to buy it themselves, but that's the UK arcade scene for you.

meadowhall used to have the Japanese Taiko no Tatsujin cabinet, I believe Namco supply all their games as it's a Namco arcade but anyway, they shoved a little english sticker with the instructions across the top of the cabinet, was a mint game, I was sorry to see it go
