Do they work for all games?

I remember a friend had his done back in 1998 and for some games the music was sped up.

...and where do you get it done?

My point was about sacrificing the story to save some money, by buying the much cheaper Japanese versions. It does add somewhat to the games, but whether it's enough to justify spending double (in GH's case) or several times more (JP Dragon Force is about a fiver) is debatable.

Dragon Force does have a good story, but it's far from a story-driven game - the meat and bones is the strategy.

I would go as far as saying if you're not going to play these games in English you may as well not bother at all! You need to be able to read the text in order to progress and get the most out of them.

With Guardian Heroes (off the top of my head) there are about 30 levels and in all but a few of them, there is a choice of where to go next or what to say. Not to mention all the dialogue and the different endings!

Dragon Force has a couple hundred generals all with their own personalities. Some have grudges against certain other generals and you can talk to all of them during domestic affairs. Plus all the story involved, dialogue, menus... the strategy is very simple, it is very easy to go through the game without losing a single battle. Without the story the game is skin and bones

These games are so full of charm that you'd just be getting a hollow experience out of the Japanese versions

Gamecentral (C4 teletext) seems to suggest that the sega ages stuff might be coming to the UK after all (if i've read it right), so maybe this will come out in english?
