Nintendo and Sony have stated that both the Rev and Ps3 will be wifi capable.

What I don't get is pre-ordering now, when in a few weeks stores will do promotions bundles for launch.

Toys R Us usually do some good deals. I'm gonna see what they have there.

So did Microsoft, but it's not built-in.

Preordering is just securing your machine, you can choose your packages/bundles when you come to buy, in the high street at least, not sure about online.

Just a thought, preowned xbox's currently cost ?70 in game, so if game are offering ?80 trade in and if you can be arsed buying one for the purpose of trading in, you can save yourself ?10. might get 3 with discount @?157.50 with a trade back of ?240 i'd save a tidy sum, doubt i'd get away with it though

Anyway i'm gonna preorder from game tomorrow:

          PGR3
          PDZ
          extra pad
might decide on a few others nearer the time

Talking of including things that people won't use, how about component leads or games in high def? How many people here have a tv with component inputs, and how many have HDTVs? If 5% of households in the Uk had a HDTV I'd be surprised.
One thing you fail to see though, is that leaving out the wireless adaptor, MS arent cutting you off from streaming data, you can do that via the included cable. Wheres the big deal? I have a wireless router, and I have no problems with the adaptor coming seperate (or I'll simply wait til a third party one comes along).

Wheres the big deal? Would you prefer the 99% of users to pay over ?300 for the machine so that you can have your wifi included? Indeed I would be VERY suprised if the PS3/Revolution comes with wifi built in as standard.

By the way, having component cables as standard is simply looking to the future. Go into your local TV shop, be it Currys or whatever. Notice that the regular CRT's are rapidly losing floor space - people who want a new TV are buying plasmas and LCDS, so MS should be applauded for including a good quality cable in the box.

By the way, I'd prefer not to be called an idiot, just because youve got your knickers in a twist about a stupid bloody wireless adaptor.

You assumed that was the case - MS have only now announced the actual package for release. Specs change a lot, and the media and marketers whip up everything, those that believe anything stated before official releases are doomed to disappointment.

That's exactly what I was saying. We assumed (not just me) as they said it would be wi-fi compatable out of the box, and it is, but you need to buy an adapter for it.

                  None

Nearer the release date I'll go to my loacal indie and pre-order everything most likely:

                  Xbox ?279 system
                  RGB scart system

And if the games are relesed on launch day:
                  Project gotham racing 3
                  Elder scrolls 4
                  Perfect dark zero
                  Ridge Racer 6

Out of interest, why is everyone - on NTSC-UK, as well - buying the console from UK retailers? Haven't you people learned?

I have emailed to Major Nelson to ask him about xbox 360

                      1. Can you advise me about the situation on region coding on XBOX 360 ?

                      2. Are there any different to US and European XBOX 360 apart from power supply requirement. (Can you make it region coding free )

                        Any reason why not?

Price differences are neligible when you take into account postage and stepdowns.

I really don't think I can warrant spending however much this is all going to come too. Once you stick 2 games on the pack, it's easily ?350...

Just not convinced so far, so might give it a miss, unfortunately.

Still a little bit annoyed at no HDMI..

I know that an import will probably be more expensive, but why would you want to wait for each game to be released in Europe?
