Theres was also the somewhat misguided hope, that with the merger of sammy and sega and snk playmore's migration to the atomiswave hardware (basically beefed up dc.) that the dreamcast might become to the atomiswave board what the AES was to the MVS and see a slew of SNKPlaymore titles hit dc but that ain't gonna happen.Last edited by nightstalker100; 24-08-2005, 15:40.

Ace consol, but not as good as some love to make out (Its no Saturn) but when you have the likes of Samba, VO II, SC5, JSR, GetBasss 1&II, HOTD 2, PenPen (well I loved it), Borderd Down, F355, Ikaruga, VT 1& , D2, Shenmue II. To name but a few , its a must buy (more so given that its so cheap).

The thing i consider the most when talking about the mighty dc is the exclusives that it still possess since many of teh triple A titles have found their way to other consoles and on many occasions in better renditons. SF3 on xbox is probably better than dc with live enabled, ikaruga on gc is pretty hot and more accessible than the dc version, skies of arcadia made it to gc aswell and all the snk titles are now heading to ps2 and to a lesser extent the xbox etc. The best exclusives in my mind are:
border down
zero gunner 2
cosmic smash
power stone 2
shenmue 1
gigawing 2
virtual on: OT
Samba
Soul Calibur 1
F335
MSR
Record of Lodoss
SSF2: For MS - a far more polished product than SF2 Anniversary
Theres probably more but these alone make dc an essential and you'd be cheating yourself if you didn't sample at least 3 of the above

I thought Gigawing 2 was on that Gigawing Legends thingy for PS2? or was it a new Gigawing game? F355 appeared on PS2 with an added external camera and PGR is essentially a port of MSR. Sadly it's lost quite alot of it's top notch exclusives, but u can still have em on the DC cheaper and most the time they're still the better ver :P

The DC may not be as cool or as retro chic as the Saturn at the moment and it may never be, but for graphics-sound and its range of quality games it pips the Saturn to the post!

Originally posted by kingston ljI have to disagree. The Saturn was fantastic in its day with a range of excellent games- but not a lot of them stand the test of time, especially visually. The Dreamcast though was created at a time when 3D had become beautiful and this can be seen in games such as Soul Calibur and Skies Of Arcadia. Even the worst games look nice on the eye- with the DC's excellent RGB output helpingl boost things further.
