I found with Meteos if the going got a bit hectic you could just scratch like mad all over the screen and get yourself out of a bind, so what's the point in playing properly. Lumines was like crack, no randomness, you just had to keep going, and you'd get lost in the game with an hour just disappearing like nothing.

You need to learn how to play the game properly then. Scribble will never win you a game in multi-player or on a harder setting.

EXACTLY. Play agasint a moderate player and try scribble you will get slaughtered.
