I?ve never been one to deny that my most played stylee of gaming goodness is the good old point and click adventure title. The old Lucas Arts games, Sam and Max Hit The Road, the Monkey Island titles, and even that must criticised one by the name of, The Dig.
Which is why the last few years my time spent gaming has been ever so slightly on the wane. Don?t get me wrong, I?m still a few hours per day man, but always longing for something that?s just not been offered into much abundance in recent times.
Hence my excitement about the upcoming Fahrenheit game. Having played the demo on both the PC and Xbox through to each of its possible conclusions, I can?t help but think that finally here?s a game that can truly keep me hooked from beginning to end, just like Still Life managed to a few months back.
Now you could argue that the incredibly short demo doesn?t show off enough of the game to really get excited, but even if the entire game doesn?t really approach those heights of mere gameplay, as long as a high proportion does, I?ll be a happy boy.
But surely this genre is all about really getting involved and understanding the character you?re playing as? Especially for a game such as Fahrenheit (if the storyline that?s been revealed so far is to be believed) where you need to get into the mindset of a man with some quite severe difficulties. So therefore a short demo isn?t really going to show off what the game has to offer, when it comes to getting into your head? Or am I managing to over think this all yet again?
Oh, and this game better not be rubbish.
