if pro evo 5 and burnout4 is 10/10, then they need never make another sequal ever again, how can they prove on 'perfection'?

Official mags are more like promotional material than serious reviews. Review scores are based on advertising sold, game importance to the console manufacturer, and amount of freebies fron the publishers.

Although they were even worse during the PSX days. Then any hyped game got an automatic 9/10 or 10/10.

Ha ha, well said Evil, those scores are terrible.

I wonder how much of a fat backhander they got for slapping those 10 out of 10 scores on the end of their reviews?!? lol

These people must have a lack of dignity or integrity. How can you say with pride that you are a games journalist when deep down inside you know you don't believe your own reviews/scores?

this is what it got in Weekly Famitsu
                    7 / 8 / 7 / 7

i dident think this was suposed to be that bad a game, could this be a botched pal conversion as a four from opm means something in this game must be right royaly ****ed.

I rember when opm gave jedi powerbattles an 8 worst game ive ever had the misfortune to play broken on so so many levels, money in a bag journalism if ever ive seen it

Why post Official magazine scores, does anyone care or hold these to any value?

The reviewer is giving a 10/10 by comparing the games to rival products on the market. When Pro Evo 6 comes out on PS3- Pro Evo 5 will be inferior and if reviewed again would probably receive a much lower score.

GoldenEye was awarded a 9 by Edge back in 97, and it was probably worth a 10 because it was a brilliant game and the best console fps. By todays standards though it would receive a pitiful score if released.

A lot of games are all about the moment- and they soon fade away too become relics. Some games do stand the test of time though- but they are a rare breed!

10 has nothing to do with perfection- it's all to do with being the best example of the genre and a brilliant game at the time of release ( in the reviewers opinion obviously )

I think it got a 9 rather than 10, but either way it didn't deserve it.

The reviewer obviously has bad taste ( or a liking for expensive treats )
