What can you do on the PSP's Internet

    sorry for the crap title.

But i had a go using my PSP with a new wireless internet connection and after the first 20 seconds of being surprised that i could go onto amazon using my PSP I began thinking what exactly could you use if for?

Looking at conventional websites on a PSP is just not a good option and entering websites takes so long that it really is worthless.

So i was wondering what could you use it for?

Can you play any other PSP owners over the internet for example? i'm guessing no but generally what it is good for.

As far as I am aware you can engage in online gaming with the psp, although I could be wrong, it might be that this feature is only implimented in a few games for the psp at the moment though.

You could always go to porn sites if you are bored at work.

You see, it's all a gimmick that will be rarely used in practice.

I've got a laptop which I use to surf in bed. Screen is much bigger so the pr0n is far far clearer.

Suppose at the moment Mr Ono is right, maybe it might be better once a plug in keyboard is released. Saying that i have the internet available on my PDA and it rarely gets used. Like most portable internet devices, it'll be shown to friends they'll go ooooooh and wow and then its soon forgotton.

The real fun would be if there was free to use wireless internet available to your entire town or city. Imagine being able to bust out the PSP anywhere and use the internet wirelessly.

The problem is it starts to become less portable. The PSP needed a touch screen entering addresses on the ds will be a breeze.

Be very small though. Personal mobile internet is crap. Hardly anyone actually produces websites scalable enough to use on it. Try this place on a PDA its bloody hard work!

Out of interest, can anyone take a pic or screenshot of what this site (site and forum) look like on a phone or whatever? It's not something that's ever been considered in the design of the site, but if there's some small changes I can make that would make a big difference, then I'll happily look into them.

I suppose one use (can't say for sure, haven't got my PSP yet) is for flash sites like homestarrunner, and webcomics.

It'd be good if you could cache them too, because that way, they serve the same purpose as people saving episodes of TV shows and the like to their memory stick.

There's a lot of episodes of homestarrunner I need to catch up with, and I know I can't be arsed to sit in front of my PC watching them all. But on the PSP on the sofa...

The main problem with the bloody PSP is it takes about a minute to imput a web address and then when the site loads it is totally not suited to the screen.

Surely Sony new this would happen and I really don't understand why they have bothered.
