Recommend me a handheld

If you don't fancy a PSP or a Neo Geo (you didn't say why tho), a DS or SP would be your best bet. Micros are super tiny and portable, but they are too small for my hands. I played on one for less than 5 minutes last night and that was enough. The screen, while of good quality, is quite a lot smaller than a SP's too. I also thought it felt tacky too, the on/off switch was rubbish and felt like it would break in no time.

sorry i would have to completely disagree, everything about the micro screams of quality, the screen is crystal clear and i have no probs at all with it(and i need distance glasses). my hands are about medium size and its really comfortable too.

micro all the way or a ds if you aren't concerened about size.

Depends on what sort of games you like? If your lovin the retro i'd get a new improved sp, the only down side is the winding down of game development,or if not buy a mk1 atari lynx!;-)

I would have said get a DS but after watching Silver Hawk at the weekend for some reason I'm saying get a Nokia N-Gage >_<

Fair enough. It was my mate's girlfriend's machine and both him (my mate) and her both love it. Maybe I'm just a sucker for the design of the SP.

And by far the best portable for vertial shooters, bloody shame they didnt capitalize on the TATE-ish capabilities and release a bunch of vertical shooters as they did Gundam games and RPGs - especially as a genre far better suited to short gaming bouts
