Tetris: The Grandmaster Ace (Japanese xbox 360)

I like a bit of tetris now and again, on the original gameboy game "a" i could get around 230 lines and level 9 high 5 was easy, eventually!
Can't find any other news on the net apart from that it seems to be released with the Japanese launch, i hope this will get a UK release, as tetris words had the massive flaw of continuous after touch which ruined it.

I know it is the tetris gameplay that keeps this series alive, but i'm hoping the 360 like others wil have various game modes as well as pretty back grounds, catchy tunes and the orignal keep falling down blocks.

Anyone else have an eye on this?

i'd like to be excited, but we have tetris on the normal xbox and nobody plays it.
admitedly that version is slightly screwed up with the hold a peice in reserve thing.

hopefully this one is back to normal.

It's a really good game, with the Japanese launch line up the way it was I picked this up as it was cheap. I'm well glad I did it's a cracker. As a nice break form typical online gaming not all the online modes are competative, and other players can cheer you on while you try to beat a mode. Offline you can play co-op in one enlarged play area which is a good laugh.

There are a few downers though. It seems to have no mode for non-widescreen TVs-with it letterboxing the display, which makes some of the text is really small and hard to read(on a non HD TV), and generally the presentation isn't all that. Nothing that really damages the game-play however.

yea,one of my japanese friends is constantly playing this and he's unlocked quite a few of the achievements,of which there are many.

Would like to get my hands on this. But Hexic is keeping me more than happy right now.Great game.

Would make a good Xbox Live Arcade game... but as a full priced stand alone release, I doubt it would ever see the light of day in the West.

Hexic's great, it's a bit more of a thinking game though. Tetris gets extremely frantic. The achievements get pretty tricky, it's taking me to get 19 out of the 50 available.
