Desert Strike isn't particularly rare. [it is great fun though, just how I remebered it.] Although fully boxed SNES titles are becoming rarer and rarer in general. However, the fact that you turned down a SNES and 18 games for that price is shocking!...

              omg

              When and where?

There's a weekly boot sale about 2 minutes away from my house. I'm going to start going but I really doubt I'll find anything remotely interesting (especially like that white saturn)

people used to say on the edge board what they got at car booters, it used to go something like this:

Jap Saturn w/Radian Silvergun & Metal Slug ?1
                Panzer Dragoon Saga 75p
MegaDrive with all released games ?2
Neo Geo AES with all metal slug/Kof/samurai games - 50p
Out Run sit-in arcade cabinet with board (mint) - 23p

seems to be a bit more honest here, edge was terrible for people exaggerating, or even just lying.

Heheh ^. Most of the stuff I see at car boots consists of old books, old knackered shoes/clothes, and dolls with their heads shaved, and limbs missing. Occasionally you get a good find, for example, I picked up a jap saturn with RSG and Metal Slug for ?1 the other day...

yeah, i go to a few car boot sales, one in particular (which is huge) first thing every sunday, and i rarely see anything of real value other than maybe a snes or megadrive in nice nick.
it's usually arseholes asking ?50 for an unboxed DC or something.

The thing about car booters is, i'd imagine if people cared enough to buy something like a White Jap Saturn when they were out, they wouldn't be the kind of person to sell it for a fiver.

Ah yes. The one time I offered a guy ?20 for an unboxed, grotty DC whose only extras were about 10 pirate games and a half-dead controller, he called me a "F*cking lying little f*cker" and threatened to punch me when I claimed it was available for anything less than ?129 in the shops, rather than the ?30 that Gamestation wanted.

you have to be carefull if something is this good its probaly nicked or worse still taken by some bodys mum because they dont play it anymore, or mistaked for the banna yellow snes that has been discarded

i once got an mint unopened mega cd, the guy was trying to hide the fact that it needed a megadrive to work, (well duh) but it just compounds the fact that these people are trying to rip you off, i got it for a fiver in the end though he wanted a tenner

sometimes its just people haveing a clear out but mostley its quite greedy people tying to sell stuff for over the odds, im sure my local boot brings out half the local crims as these people look ruff as hell

Given that all the ones round here seem to be at least 10% stalls of pirate DVDs, 10% pirate CDs, 10% "unlock your (stolen) mobile here" and 40% market stalls rather than just people selling their own second-hand items, its hardly surprising, really.

its not as bad as that at some of them round here, because the police have been cracking down on them, there does tends to be an alarming amount of mobiles though one stall recentley had about 50 (had to be stolen who has 50 mobiles just lieing about) people were buying though, shame on them

The bootys near me aren't too bad, but the nearer you get to the midlands, the more skank the gear is.

It's not uncommon to see skanks running past ya carryng a ground sheet full of copied gear, and disappearing into a hedge.

Its amazing to see though, these stalls are always flat out with ppl buying gear.

Back to consoles, I have notced there has been a big influx of playstations, but i'm not to sure about buying playstations from of a booty, with their dodgy lazers and all.

Most comical sales in the last 2 months.

A guy wanting 70 quid for a dreamcast, with about 5-6 back ups.

A young lady wanting 35 quid for her game gear.

A chap wanting 25 quid for a cd32, which, and I'm not joking here, was covered in mud...It was that bad the leads where stuck together with the mud, that had dried. I asked him if that included the mud, and told me to f*ck off.

Ahh well, the joys of booting.
