    'Ave a lark at:

    UT - Still great.
    UT2K3 - Amazing with bots.
Battlefield 1942 - Meant to be very, VERY good.
Counter-Strike - Very good with a few friends and some good bots.
Q2 - May look like puke, but it can still be fun!

    ---

I've got 2 PCs set up now with a cross-over cable and those games above are very good (Other than BF42, which I am yet to play). But you know that if you really want fun, it has to be 4-6 players on a LAN. Then you're talking!

I imported all the parts for my PC and the version of Linux I use I downloaded from the US. Does that make it ok to talk about my PC? :P

*hopes everyone realises I'm only joking and doesn't want to get branded a troll*

Yup, Quake 3 and UT if you really have to (spit).

Team based games like CS and BF1942 will get boring pretty quickly if it's only the two of you wandering around. Generals and any of the C&C games should be good fun too.

CS is great on your own with POD bot, in my opinion. When you have two real people opposing eachother as well as the bots; it is that little bit better...

It all depends on whos playing though!

Nothing beats D00M and D00M 2. Yeah its old but for 2 player bashing its fantastic.

                  You should get GTA 2.

Great fun when playing with someone else.

                    Total Annihilation.

Sod the FPSs - that's what the N64 was for.

If RTS are your cup of tea, then you can't go far wrong with two of the recent heavyweights, ie. Age of Mythology and American Conquest. I'll admit to never playing the single player campaigns on either, their lan capabilities have always been enough for me.

You may not have heard of AC, though. I've been the AOE games since they first came out, and so have always stuck religiously to that. I actually won a copy of AC though, and was surprised to find that it was as enjoyable as the Empires/Mythology games.

AC is meant to be great. They talk about it very positively at ctrl-alt-del.com!

2 player must be doom, or doom 2. I have fond memories of playing them via a serial cable. Either that or its some good old 1v1 on qw, or q3a. As for UT well...cough

                              Yeah,

That auto aim infested one analogue stick, 10fps blurrotmatic action station is clearly the home of FPS.

Ditch the 2 LANed pcs man
