The official tedious 30fps/60fps debate thread

I hope people enjoy PGR3- and I may even buy it for some Live action, but my hopes are pinned on future racers like Test Drive that will hopefully be great games that run at 60fps.

Surely it's just a trade off. Xbox Moto GP3 runs at 60, Forza at 30, but Forza has far more detail in the environments compared with the sparse look of Moto GP. Which do you prefer detail or smoothness?

Smoothness.

But it doesn't have to be that way. Look at OutRun 2, or Panzer Dragoon Orta, or Jet Set Radio Future.

All games with huge amounts of detail, and all run 60fps.

Forza doesn't look that great and the car models are really poor. SEGA GT and Rallisport II look far better and run ar 60 fps

I think we are all nut-jobs getting so worked-up about something we have no control over.

At the end of the day I should have said one thing: " I wish PGR3 ran at 60fps! "


The thread has reaffirmed in my mind that I am indeed in a minority here. The way I have been treated by certain people was unnecessary- but I just think it was a case of people misunderstanding my words and jumping to conclusions. This is human nature though, and I hold no grudges.

Billy, I understand your peace pipe but clearly a thread started with the intention of a discussion on Frames Per Second will attract people from both sides and sadly not all people will have an open mind. Surely you expected such a heated debate?

It's fine to get heated up over something we feel strongly about, it's just that certain barriers get crossed a lot quicker on forums then they would in real life (i bet if we were all sitting together discussing this in person it would've spiralled into a fight well before page 20!) as we'd only end up boxing our screens .
