I got Shox a few weeks ago because its so cheap. It's pretty good but calling it a Sega Rally beater is pushing it.. unless you're talking about the GBA iteration.

Gitaroo Man is fantastic. Plenty of charm and toe tapping tunes. It even rivals Frequency in the difficulty stakes.

i have started playing Primal today - its not one which i thought i would like too much but its concept is slightly Ico meets Head over Heels -ish

combat is off though - using the shoulder buttons to fight is one big mistake

another one is Mark of Kri - one of my fav ps2 games from last year which has a very good combat system. linking combo's from attacker to attacker is implemented perfectly and its one of the best scrolling puncher which has carried over the essence of the 2d genre to its 3d counterpart.

Shox is a good one but i wouldn't say its a Sega Rally beater. Another good one is Freekstyle highly enjoyable if mindless

        I always liked Everblue.
It kinda relaxed me like Pilotwings on N64 did.
Ico (by the gaming public in general) is also massively underrated, this game has to be one of the best games on any machine.

My obvious choices would be Ico, Mark of Kri and the Guilty Gear series.

Soon we'll be adding to the list Mobile Light Force 2 and Everblue.
So many games I wish the gaming press wasn't focused on the next GTA.

My future missed game, Magic Pengel It just looks so cool I have to play it.

seconded, I was just playing through this last week really enjoying it. The combo moves are so cool, as are the various stealth kills.

Another good barely noticed PS2 game was Shadow Hearts, an RPG released about a month before FFX, it had a really cool battle system involving a judgement wheel where to get any luck you had to time your responses. Plus the story was set in early 20th century Europe/Asia, which was an intriguing novelty.

I agree with the Mark Of Kri great little game not as cute as Ico but almost.
A game I`d like to add to the list is SOS Final Escape, I picked it up in HMV for ?19.99. I saw a few reviews of it but I don`t recall what it scored.
The basic sumise is you have to escape from an earthquake struck city, I`ve only just started playing it. It reminds me of D2 without the guns. Nice control method and cut movies.
                  Any one else got it?

I have the JPN version called 'Zettaizetsumei Toshi', also the US version is called 'Disaster Report'. Marcus mentioned it earlier.

It is a great game. Tons of atmosphere, with the outside areas having an eerie quality to them. The English translation seems pretty awful from what I've seen though

Its quite a good game (SOS, that is) but its occasionally really infuriating. Its rather obvious at times that its an absolutely brilliant game struggling under a lack of general polish and some infuriating control quirks. Oh well.
