neo geo cd games!? as good as aes/mvs?

i recently purchased a neo cd system! now i know about the eternal loading times but is there anyone out there who is lucky enough to have compared the games(aes vs cd) for graphical differences?

last blade 2 had animation cuts to save loading time but i'm wondering about
    last blade 1
    metal slug 1, 2
    kof 97,98,99
    real bout 2,special
    samurai spirits 4

do these look the same as the aes versions apart from the loading?

please folks there really isnt that much info on the net comparing the games for cd and aes/mvs.

    help.

I think Metal Slug 1 & 2 games are spot on, not sure about the others.

Their is missing animation and horrible loading times on some of these games (like KOF 99). However they are a fraction of the price of the AES cartridges so they are better in that respect.

Personally I dont mind the loading times or some of the missing animation.

Thank mate ^^, although I have little knowledge and experience of the CD games really.

Don't rule out the MVS route, Neo. My advice would be: ask on the neo-geo.com forums which games suffer the longest loading times and missing frames on CD and, if there are titles on that list you want, look into how cheap they are on MVS.

I'd even consider looking at Dreamcast, PSX and Saturn ports, if the games really suffer, and if you don't want to get an MVS on top of a CD machine.

Welcome to the Neo CD club!

My earlier thread http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/viewtopic.php?t=2312 may be of some interest.

As for differences between AE/MVS & CD versions I've played through the CD and MVS versions of Metal Slug and other than loading they are identical.
Loading times on KOF '99 are so bad that it gets very annoying, especially fighting bloody Krizalid for the tenth time, but doing a comparison between my CD version and an emu version on PC but I couldn't see any missing frames.

BTW - Buy Windjammers & Samurai Shodown/Spirits 2 - best games on the CD system!
