Slipknot to cameo in PSP game - hold me back

In the upcoming PSP first person shooter, Infected, there are a few cameos. Amongst them are Bloodrayne (yeah, fine) and er.... all 9 members of Slipknot. Woweeee. Hold me back. Now I'm definitely buying it!

However, if there were any doubts in my mind, the plot is sure to confirm my decision to purchase: "INFECTED is a fast-paced, over-the-top 3rd person shooter. INFECTED casts you as a lone cop, fighting against a tidal wave of infectious zombies, intent on ripping New York to shreds."

Superb! How do they think this stuff up? And "over-the-top" you say? Brilliant. Buy Now.

I wonder who's on the soundtrack? Oh wow! It's all by Roadrunner Records artists. Hang on. Wasn't there another game a while back that was just a (very) thinly veiled promo vehicle for Roadrunner Records's bands with almost no actual gameplay? Hmm. Yes. Evolution Snowboarding. 2/10. Let's hope this is better eh? Cos it's sounds rocking. Well, we know we can trust screenshots to be the best indication of how good a game will be (well, no, but let's pretend):

Seriously though, I really can't stand it when rock/pop stars appear in games - why don't Slipnot (or whoever) just stick it at what they do worst, rather than 'infecting' games (do you see what I did there? ) with their 'we're a bit scary because our Halloween masks got stuck on our faces' routine?!

I usually judge a game on it's gameplay, not who or what features in it, or even the soundtrack for that matter (that usually gets turned off anyway). The fact that this is developed by the guys behind MDK/Giants/Armed and Dangerous is enough to pique my interest.

On the upside at least there cameo-ing in some piece of ****. I'd be really worried if I found out they were starring in Half Life 3 or something. Half Life 3: Gordon vs. Slipknot.

With any luck it won't be rubbish, but the fact that they are marketing it by emailing me details of who the cameos are in it fills me with dread that the gameplay alone won't be any cop.
