    Ouendan Vs Band Bros.

I'm currently hammering my way through the final song on Ouendan and have remembered that I never got to play Band Bros.

How do these two games compare? Can one be considered better than the other or are they different enough to warrant playing and owning both?

    Answers please.

completly different, but ouendan is well better in my opinion (one of the greatest games this year!)

with band bros, you are playing many different instruments, from drums to guitar to keyboard.

you dont really use the touch screen, but every button on the ds is used for different notes/chords and drum piece.

the interface is very bland, it looks like a music program.

it takes more skill than ouendan.

the music has midi sound file quality

you have the main game or can just jam around with different instruments.

i havnt played band bros for ages now, even though i've just recieved the expansion pack, so sorry if any of the above info is wrong.

They're definitely both worth picking up, I've spent several hours playing both and enjoyed every moment of it.

In terms of which one is best then Ouendan wins overall, it's much slicker in terms of presentation and having proper renditions of the songs instead of midi is a huge plus, Band Bros does have much better multiplayer options however plus you can create your own tunes as well which means it'll probably have more long term appeal.

Just what I was going to say. Get both, if you can't then get Ouendan.

They are competely different games. Personally, I prefer Band Bros. and it's by far my most played DS game. In BB you are playing the actual notes/tunes with the DS (which is why you need MIDI here) making it feeling like a real instrument rather than just tapping along, and that appeals strongly to the musician side of me. I do love Ouendan as well though.

Ouendan, however, is far and away more slickly presented and on the outside is a much more inviting game. I think that a newcomer can enjoy Ouendan even if you don't know the songs, whereas with BB you need to get into the song before it all clicks. There is also the expansion cart for BB, but the lack of high-score saving means I don't have the same urge to play it.

In any case, BB is an essential purchase.

            i prefer band brothers too.
in general i like music games where i'm creating the actual music a lot more than ones where you simply playing along in time with it.
ouendan also gets too hard too quickly for me, whereas band brothers has so many more songs/instruments (especially with the expansion) that you can mess around with if you cant handle some of the more difficult ones. with ouendan its like i hit a wall, and cant go further.

band brothers does sound quite bad after playing other music games though, but you get used to it quickly.

I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't particularly like Ouendan. I usually love music titles, in particularly Guitaruu Man, but this just doesn't do anything for me.

                Spoiled by Frequency most likely.

Me not liking Ouendan also put me off Band Brothers too, which is a shame.

                    Band Bros, ftw!

Ouendan is good but Band Bros is longer and more mature. =) Get your own band together, make songs and jam every weekend. =D
