Indeed - GC vs PS2 RE4 eye candy vs disc storage.

Consider the 4KB demo scene and then think about what can be done with 9GBs.

People do say Xbox>360 isn't a big leap as PS2>PS3. Heck, even Sony said it was more like a 'Xbox 1.5'.

But look at it like this. The Xbox itself can probably be regarded as a PS2 1.5 And like others have said, we haven't actually seen anything played yet on PS3, let alone pass judgement on games. Add onto this the fact that the 360 will have a lot of media functions, whereas we have no idea with the PS3.

In terms of performance, the 2 will be close. anyway, the Xbox was the most powerful console of this gen, and the PS2 the least powerful of this gen..........

yeah, because Sony are gonna really say "holy ****, this Xbox 360 really is the real deal!"

so far, i'm not charmed by any next gen device. my situation may be different from most, i work for myself, my first kid is due, i just won't have time. if I had to pick one, it'd be Nintendo. Based on my many, many years gaming experience, i'm sure they'll be innovative and creative which will be a breath of fresh air for me.

I never said that is what Sony should say, but taking a jibe at the 360's power, especially after taking into account the difference between xbox and PS2, is a little cheeky to say the least.

Space wont be a problem, half life 2 on pc is what 5 gig thats with high res textures etc. I would hedge my bets and say br wont be used for game for a very very long time, its more expensive to make at the moment and will there for be more expensive to buy, plus dvd is more than enough space at the moment if not whats the harm in 2 dvd games it didnt hurt re4 did it.

The problem i had with this generation of games is there was many crossover games like incredible hulk or burnout 3.They probably made the games so they could run on the least powerful hardware which was the ps2 then converted to the other hardware perhaps with a smoother frame rate or higher res but essentially it was the same game.

Its all down to the system specific games i think. And plenty of them.Go to the play asia site and look at the launch list for the xbox/ps2 and cube. The ps2 list just dwarfs the cubes and xboxs list.Microsoft really need to sort that out for the 360

From this viewpoint, the 360 should be fine then I presume? It's the first one launching so LIKELY to be the least powerful surely?

Well, initially we will see that, almost the same as the PS2 and PS1. The truth is, more people will have PS2's this Christams than Xbox 360's. Over tiem however, these games will be phased out, so don't worry about that.
