It's one of those things unfortunately...

Sonic Heroes (which I detested) made **** loads of cash for Sega, so it was obvious that they;d do something similar. Look at what's coming out though... Sonic 360, house of the dead 4, afterburner climax, virtua fighter 5, virtua tennis 3, all of which look fantastic. If sega needs to make the odd piece of rubbish in order to fund other projects then I'm all for it. No where the **** is Panzer Dragoon Saga 2?

Sega are long past their best, that I'll agree with. However, that doesn't mean they're not capable of knocking out great games. As with any major publisher/developer - you can look to both their bad and good points.

What depresses me about Sega is that I can't see them ever returning to a point where they'll exceed their previous golden periods, and it's not a nice thought to conclude on.

Possibly not, but that's why they had those golden periods, if they could do better now, this would be the golden period, etc.

TBH, they just have more duffers now. Surely JSRF, Orta, Shenmue 2, Skies of Arcadia, Monkey Ball, Outrun2, and PSO Blue Burst (well, that last one in my eyes only >_>) be considered a golden age? These games are fantastic!

EDIT - And i'm going to have to buy this game. Why?

Sega are probably past there best, which was the Dreamcast days, no doubt about it, but thats not to say that they suck. Yes every now and then a dull game comes along, but the better far outweigh the bad. And there is still some amazing games coming through. I personally can't wait for Condenmed. After seeing some trailers of it, and trailers of Ridge Racer 6, I am swapping Ridge For Condenmed.

And as for Sonic, just to see they have not sold out, look at Sonic 360! Amazing!
