If SEGA SAMMY released another console in time for next next generation (2010-2012)

How many of you would buy it?

I'd be the first in line.

If the Dreamcast is anything to go by, then i would definitely buy it.

And if SEGA's recent games are anything to go by, I would definitely be able to ignore it quite easily.

I'm with Kubrick. No consoles interest me any more. I'm hoping the Revolution will otherwise it's the end of current-gen gaming for me.

If I had the money I'd buy it just for the hell of it.

I'd buy it if Shenmue III was an exclusive... but then I'd say that for any system it was on.

I really, really can't see myself skipping over a new Sega console, even if it was utter crap. The Sega fan in me just wouldn't have it.

Then again, I'm a person who adores the 32X.

                      Will it do GT3?

Nothing wrong with that, Star Wars Arcade and VR Deluxe are worth owning the mushroom for.

I'd buy it, but then I'll buy anything that moves.

Sega and Sammy would need to inject some serious cash in to their games departments and get them making pure arcade experiences. AM2 and the like would need to create lots of exclusive titles for the machine.

Just imagine a machine with exclusive Sega arcade games. New Daytona's, Outrun's, Scud Race 2, Golden Axe Next, Virtua Fighter's, Afterburner etc..

In fact the machine could be Lindbergh based and play host to all the arcade games Sega are making. It could be like the ultimate arcade home system where serious arcade fans finally get what they have always wanted.

The machine would need a net-service to allow gamers to compete with each other all over the world with a special system that ranks players on a Sega Global Scoreboard etc...

Something like this would enliven the hardcore/serious gaming community and be something very different to the other machines on the market. Sega could even charge ?70 for the games and I guess people would be happy to pay it.

Sounds a lot like a Saturn combined with the Dreamcast- but even better!

                            Dreams can be beautiful things!

Now why hasn't anyone thought of that before

Neo Geo was ambitious in a thriving arcade market. Today it would be suicide.
I'm afraid Sega Sammy will never release a(nother) home console. How many more of these threads will there be between now and when Sammy drag Sega under?
