Hi all,Just bought a cheap mark 1 Nokia ngage yesterday pretty much on a whim tbh. If past Ngage related threads are anything to go by there isnt much love for the Ngage here, Although i know a few peeps on here have one. Ever since the original Ngage was launched ive been repelled as much as ive been attracted by the thing but curiosty has got the better of me and im now(or soon will be when it arrives) an Ngage owner. While i know its not exactly a well designed bit of kit im rather impressed by its feature list as well as being a series 60 symbian mobile phone (although i doubt id use it as that) its a capable handheld gaming system (comparable to a ps1 power wise) that plays Ngage carts, java and symbian games as well as hosting emulators for the megadrive, snes, nes, master system,gameboy/gbc and even mame if that kind of thing floats your boat. Add to that the ability to browse the net (via opera) video playback (full length movies)mp3,radio,email etc whats not to like? Will post hands impressions soon.

not to pee on your parade but the timing was just perfect
Nokia's VP of corporate strategy, Antii Vasara, has confirmed that there are no plans to develop future versions of the N-Gage as the company turns its focus towards other mobile entertainment media.
Speaking to Vnunet, Vasara admitted that the N-Gage did not achieve projected targets, stating: "N-Gage is still being sold but it was not a success in the sense of developing a new category.

Pathway To Glory
FANTASTIC game which didnt receive nearly as much as praise as it should have. If this had have come out on GBA or DS people would have been singing it praises across the land. Really is a gem of a game. However it is the only N-Gage game i really rated. Still it was worth it.

ngage, i brought one early on, why did i waste my money so? but this thread is about its good point so i'll try to find some....
....it has a decent version of tombraider.., well, it has less bad games than the jaguar, but that may be because the jaguar had more games.....hmm, oh yes it has a mp3 player but the revised version didn't have it. It did teach me a huge lesson that if i ever had ?100 in my pocket never waste it on poor quality phone/wannabe handheld clone of satan's bastard son ever again.

I love th Ngage. Totally underrated little thing if you ask me. Did online, wireless gaming before the DS. All the people in the Mario kart DS thread going "ZOMG I can race you on the khazi"
I could do it a year ago,
Pocket Kingdom, King of Fighters and Sonic N are probably my fave games for the system.

Still waiting for my mk1 ngage to arrive but had a go on a workmate QD and i must say i was pretty impressed. Only played a little of Tony Hawks which is not normally my cup of tea but it played pretty well and was very close graphics wise to ps1 standards. Also watched a couple of vids and the screen and playback quality were also a plesent suprise! I hope my mk1s as good as the QD,not sure how much of an improvment the QD is over the mk1 but it looks a hell of a lot better and made me wish id splashed out a few extra quid for a QD. It really is turning into the 'poormans psp' discovered theres also spectrum,c64 and an msx emus for the ngage and a NGPC on the way! Mk1 owners may like to know theres a Diy mod for the mk1 ngage that converts the mk1 from the rather stupid side talking handset to a QD style flat faced system. Cant wait to get mine
