I'm more concerned with the cost of the software and its availability. I will probably end up with both machines eventually, its just a matter of deciding which comes first.

Given that most UK gamers on here are buying a PAL machine, should the site be renamed NTSC-OZ?

It leads me to believe the UK PSU is multi-voltage but the US one isnt.

As they wont sell them separate you might be better off importing from the UK like I am as the Aussie/NZ package doesnt include the XBL headset either its not much more cash to get it early and pay shipping.
They have to provide a way for you to get them separately, perhaps directly thru MS. What happens if a customer loses or breaks, or damages their PSU?

You'd be hard pressed to lose a PSU as big as that.
          *ahem*

MS would definitely supply them directly. It wouldn't make sense to sell them in stores.
