Does anyone else think this or is it just me. With the release of the 360, xbox games and hardware will experience the inevitable price drop. Even now you can get some AAA titles for around a tenner, infact thats the average price i've paid for the games up to this point so i'm looking for that average to drop even further. Thens there still the emulation/homebrew scene, something that the 360 won't have for awhile to take advantage of. What about software support and future releases? Any gold on the horizon? Might the xbox become what the PS1 did, only far more capable. I just feel like it has so much more left in the tank, so much infact that i can't yet jump to the new hardware and plan to rinse the hell out of my xbox over the next 2 years and finish my collection for pocket change (hopfully)

I have had an Xbox since US release and have to say it is the worse console I have ever had the misfortune to own. I can honestly say that Outrun is the only game I really, really enjoyed on it.
PGR2 was OK, Halo was alright but nothing more than alright, and Ninja Gaiden kept me amused for a couple of hours.
Lets hope the 360 is better!Last edited by gIzzE; 28-11-2005, 23:27.

Saying it's the worst console you've owned is rather meaningless unless you say what you're comparing it to.
The XBox hardware is more reliable than the PS2 and, obviously, it's got all the same cross platform games as PS2/GC. Plus it has a significant body of good or great exclusives which are noticeably technically superior to any other platform.
Until the XB360 has a decent number of exclusive titles worth playing the XBox still has plenty of raison d'etre IMHO.

All of those have given my hours of entertainment over the last 25 years, but the Xbox just has not given me anything new that I have enjoyed.
Most Xbox games have a certain feel to them, and I just have not got on with them, they haven't made me smile.

My daughter has never been into consoles at all, however I was sorting out all my old machines yesterday and testing them all, and her and her friend were in the front room at the time when I plugged the SNES in with Mario World in it, she said "Arrhh, that's Yoshi, can I have a go?"
Now neither her or her friend have ever owned or even really played any games apart from Karoke Revolution, DDR, singstar etc. however they both spent just over 2 hours playing Mario World, they loved it, easy to pick up, colourful and makes you feel good, it is like loosing yourself in a cartoon for a couple of hours.
And this is what I want to do when I get home from work, I want to play something that makes me smile, not makes me feel awkward and depressed!

I never noticed that in all the years I played it but subconciously I think a lot of things like that add to the enjoyment and the "losing yourself in it" factor.

I got my Xbox for Ninja Gaiden and I still love that game but besides that the only real reason I still own the machine is so I can play the best versions of multiformat games. PS2 load times annoy the hell out of me and all the gamecube versions of multi-format games have been crap latley. But other than that I don't really feel like the Xbox is that great and I can't see me owning one much longer unless its just to keep a few games, which would probabaly be silly.
Besides Ninja gaiden, Halo 2 and a hand full of Sega games it is not exactly brimming with exclusive classics either. So i'm not really sure why anyone else would want to keep theres much longer either.Last edited by rmoxon; 29-11-2005, 15:25.
