People moaned about the 'launch window' strategy before, now people are annoyed because things are dry for a few weeks. Can't win really.

For christ sake people: finish the ****ing games before moving onto something else!!
This is the best opportunity I have had in my videogaming life to finish all 5 games I bought because there will not be any games until January and I for one am rather thankful for it. Enjoy the launch line-up and just be patience for the next wave of titles to land upon us.
But yes, there is Ridge Racer 6 and Dead or Alive 4 to tide you over if you import.

What does need to happen is keeping the Live Arcade stuff fresh, really with this stuff they need to have new things online every other week - this goes for the demo and trailer downloads too, otherwise it'll all become stale.

In Jan things pick up again with Top Spin 2, Alan Wake, Test Drive Unlimited, and for those who care about such things - Tomb Raider.
Feb has Ghost Recon, Frame City Killer, and Full Auto.
Oh and Frame City Killer also looks great based on the newest pics ive seen really wanna get that as well.

I'm pretty sure Alan Wake is going to be a long time coming yet. Remedy are notorious for refusing to give release dates (more power to them) and the Alan Wake forums says that no date has been set yet.
It's the commonly accepted concensus that Dead Rising is due the end of January. I'd be suprised if that makes it, but I'd love to be proved wrong.

I'd be very surprised if Alan Wake makes Q1 2006 (probably summer/winter at the least).
It's inevitable that the release schedule will dry up a couple of months after December. This isn't exclusive to the 360... it happens on all platforms.
There are only two pockets in the year when games are huddled together... one takes place over a period of months, the other over a period of weeks.
If there aren't any interesting 360 releases during March then I'd be worried for the rest of the year. At least in Europe, that's when things have traditionally picked up again (albeit briefly) over the last few years.

Live Arcade has a few titles being released before Christmas (i think its 5) and then we have DOA4 to look forward to (i think this one [bi]will[/b] be region free)
In the new year we have some good releases to look forward to, Oblivion, Splinter Cell 4, Top Spin 2 etc all before the end of Q1 2006.

There is another Live Arcade game announced - http://www.nakedsky.com/home.html
I have four games on my pre-order list for next year, RR6, DOA4, Top Spin 2 and Oblivion. It's already costing me a fortune to keep up ...
Edit - Jinx.
