    Full Auto - 360 demo

just had a play on the new demo disk on the official 360 mag

full auto is basically burnout with guns

the only problem is that games with cars with guns on them are normally rubbish

this one isn't rubbish its just bland and uninteresting

first thing you look for in next gen stuff is the graphics and this disappoints massively

the ps2 version of burnout revenge is better looking and the fact that this game looks like it does AND has frame rate issues on the 360 is unforgivable

it looks like an xbox 180 game they ported across tbh

gameplay wise its incredibly frantic and action packed

there are loads of destructible objects and physics objects and its great to see everything smashing around you

it doesn't handle as well as burnout but it will just take some getting used to

it has the rewind time features from prince of persia and that is really well implemented and really useful

the AI causes a problem. in burnout if you got left behind you could always catch up but not so in full auto, if you get left behind you're done for and driving round an empty track is no fun

its not a bad game just a bit average and graphically underwhelming with framerate problems

the disk itself is fairly rubbish

    2 things of note:

you can save the frag dolls gamer pictures so you can masquerade as one of our very own forum members

you can also add any of the mag's team to your friends list, including Zorg from UK Resistance. i haven't done this as i assume writing for the mag is a big enough loss of dignity without having random idiots adding you to your friends list

don't bother buying the mag, download the kong and full auto demo when it hits market place

I was left racing myself. Felt like crazy Taxi then,.. but with guns, ...and no passengers and therefore boring.

Did anyone actually think this would be a good game?

I thought it was ok, reminded me of a ye olde xbox game that I can't remember the name of .... Smashing something?

Gfx were good when the frame rate wasn't chugging.

Rewind feature about the best feature...

OK to play as a demo, probably not going to be worth 45 of your hard earned sheets though....

Was looking forward to this one, figured it was the closest I'd get to next-gen Twisted Metal for a while.

i spoke to a guy from capcom who had been at X05 or something and he *assured* me it was a really good game

Is anyone forgetting that this is a demo of a unreleased/unfinished game

Nope, but I was never under the impression this was going to be one to watch, firstly because the car racing/combat genre has never produced any good games, and secondly it's by a tin pot developer that gameography comprises of one game - Cel Damage. I'm sure American kids will love it, but it's hardly going to set the gaming industry alight is it?

Maybe not cars, but doesn't Mario Kart belong in this category?

I thought it was pretty good. Nothing really special, but after a few goes, found myself enjoying it quite a bit. Considering that most of the big 360 games originally pencilled for Spring are likely to get delayed, I may consider buying the finished product in the coming games drought.

Maybe...I will need to check the rule book...

Nope, it says - "No carts, diggers, prams or driveable mushrooms are allow"

This could potentially be quite good, from the demo the weapon mechanic seems quite well implemented, as does the Unwreck feature, but the problem atm is that it's all to easy to be left languishing in the rear of the pack not seeing another racer no matter how well you drive, which is distinctly boring. If they sort out the pack dynamics, you never know, this could be quite interesting.

i think the 'games with cars in that have had machine guns and rocket launchers strapped to them' genre doesn't include other racing games like mario kart

the above genre includes such classics as vigilante 8 for instance

But games like Vigilante 8, Interstate 76, Twisted Metal etc., aren't racing games, they're car combat games. The genre I'm talking about include such 'greats' as 187 Ride or Die
