Yep the best FF made IMO. Memories of playing this years ago.

I have special memories of this game as it was the first import game I bought.

Must have read this review a thousand times while waiting for the game to arrive. Super Play's love for RPGs was so infectious.

      Best. FF game. Ever.

I agree - the best RPG ever made.

For those of you who want to replay through it but with a new challenge, I encourage you all to try a Low Level Game (LLG). This is where you avoid collecting experience at every opportunity. It is great fun and offers a new challenge and makes you actually use some different moves and abilities .

I wrote an FAQ over on gameFAQs about it (http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/recognition/12009.html)

I managed to finish the game, and collect every character with the following levels:

Celes Level 6, Setzer Level 6, Terra Level 6, Locke Level 6, Relm Level 6, Sabin Level 6, Edgar Level 6, Shadow Level 6, Umaro Level 6, Cyan Level 7, Strago Level 8, Gogo Level 8, Mog Level 11, Gau level 15.

        Average Party Level: 7.36

Oh and wasnt Super Play great?

I still have almost every issue (4 onwards) somewhere about here... I really should dig them out.

I used to jump straight to the Final Fantasy Forum at the back of the mag when I first got it .

Remember whe Super Play folded, they said a very similar magazine would come out for the N64.
When i read futures N64 mag, i almost cried. it was a disgrace to nature

I have to agree with you guys on all the above points.

FF3 was, IMO, the best in the whole series.

Super Play was the best single format mag ever.

And I still have the whole collection boxed in the loft.

MMmmm... Super Play. Only ever rivalled by the official Saturn mag in terms of greatness.

Mean Machines was the best Multi-format mag IMO.

my collection of splays is 2 short due to lending them to some swine who threw them out (he borrowed the 2 issues of a 2 part solution). just thought id share.

ps: amiga power for 2nd greatest single format mag behind splay.

got my whole collection in my cubboard, and must say superplay broke my heart when the stopped publishing,

i will never forget the day i paid ?55 in cex for my FF3 and playing it on christmas morning, it was snowing outside and the intro in the games was also snowing, when terra and the mechs raid the cave for the esper...

will also never forget when celes tries to commit suicide off the cliffs in the second world.... (shadow and his dog interceptor were the best "stay away the dog eats strangers")

i stopped playing the FF series after 3 (jap 6), as 7 came out on playstation and i was really angry that it didnt come out on a nintendo system, is it worth playing any of the new ones 7,8,9,10,11,12 etc

7 was ok the first go through but the rest have been pretty poor. Apparently 9 is decent but I just havent been able to put the effort into any of them.

                        Certainly avoid 10.

7 is definately the best ff (lmao) it had the most open ended and debateable story and the best setting!! 4 and 6 are good too but 7 is the one my man!!

And before i get slated yes i am a 7 fanboy!

FF7 is great but not as good as FF6.

FF7 also pisses all over Skies of Arcadia which is just a rip off of FF7 with bits of Ocarina, still a great game however.

                              superplay was the greatest.

i had to throw away loads of issues when i moved house last year
                              only saved the first few.
                              i feel terrible
