Isn't Resi 5 supposed to come out in 2007? Why does everyone assume its coming next year? Same goes for MGS4.

Yes, Japanese version. Feb23 according to play-asia. Actually, all the games I listed are due in the 1st quarter.

                Okami by a mile.

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Resident Evil 5 (if it makes it). Alan Wake (likewise). Shenmue III (need to dream). Nintendo's Revolution launch games (please let there be a Pilotwings).

And um... I can't think of much else.

It's the same as the beginning of this generation. At the start of the PS2's lifespan there wasn't much to look forward to, then it all starts to come together in a year or so. I think this question will be able to answered much more confidently after E3 2006.

I would have listed Resi 5, but I'd be surprised to see it next year.

One thing I forgot to mention - Bleach DS: Souten ni Kakeru Unmei

                  C'mon Treasure!

Twilight Princess - I forgot to mention that too.

I may not be a fan of Nintendo's sanitised fairytale-telling in the main series (Majora's Mask was a very nice exception), but Zelda's structure/level/puzzle/item/tool design is wonderful, along of course with the atmosphere.

I'm looking forward to returning to a more Ocarina of Time-like world.

Yet another one... Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. Should be good - providing Konami keep the extras included in the 3/4 disc Japanese version in the English release.

Oh, and Sega's trio of Virtua Fighter 5, next-gen Afterburner and Virtua Tennis 3.

Seeing as I don't see myself owning a next-gen system for a while, the big games on the horizon for me are Zelda and Black. Black in particular; if it's as good as it could well be, given Criterion's record, it'll be something very special.

Halo 3 & Rumble Roses XX on the 360.

MGS4 (if it makes it), Biohazard 5 & DMC 4 (if they also make it out before '07) on the PS3.

...and Virtua Fighter 5 & Alan Wake on whatever gets 'em first.

My dream suprise release would be a new update of Steel Battalion on the 360.

Devil Summoner from Atlus, looking quite different from the last three games and all the more interesting for it. Okami and SotC should provide me with an arthouse fix in 2006, I'm extremely anxious to see if Kojima's really able to add all those features to MGS3 without sacraficing something somewhere and as the days pass since the release of San Andreas my thirst for a next gen eyebleed-free, tightly designed GTA release grows stronger and stronger....

Also the U.S. release of Bumpy Trot has me a bit excited and no doubt I'll have a serious affair with FFXII when it finally arrives. I hope the year will be complemented by a new console along with a copy of the new Gradius, that be sweet, which reminds me of Ibara, another sure bet get. I'll stop now

I can't see a next-gen GTA being released next year (2007/2008 I reckon), but it's definitely on my most wanted list, along with Halo 3 and Silent Hill 5.

2006 probably won't be blessed with any of them.
