Just when you think you've seen it all

Don't you just love it when you've played a game to death and think you've seen all it has to offer and then something new crops up and takes you by suprise.

I was playing pro evo 5 over the weekend and occasionally on that game an obscure piece of commentary will come up or a rarley used cut-scene will play and you do a little double take and think hmmmm that was a bit strange.

Well, whilst playing against my mate i injured one of his players, the ref didnt call a foul but the player stayed down on the floor. Naturally my mate wanted me to kick the ball out as footballers do in real life for fair play. Not being the sporting type i thought i'd just pass it around and watch him roll around on the floor a bit to piss my mate off. The whistle eventually blew for what i presumed was an offside decsion. Turns out though the ref got pissed off with me for not kicking it out and stopped play to treat the injured player. The game resumed with a drop ball.

I've played every game in the pro evo series to death over the last 5 years or so and never seen a drop ball. My mate and i were both a bit confused by this and decided that we must be in a small minority of people who have actually seen this happen. So anyone else witnessed a drop ball? Or anything particularly bizarre in any other game?

Funnily enough it's always the pro evo games I experience this with - a mixture of only playing them (in the past before 5 & live !) when friends are round and that not being too often meant occassionaly (months apart) we'd always see little moves or situations we'd never seen before.

One of the things that makes it the best footy game on the market !

It's new for Pro Evo 5 I believe as there is now the chance that a player will get injured on the pitch, but the tackle/incident wasn't ruled a foul so play goes on. I've seen it once myself, about a day or so after getting the game, but that's it. CPU kicked the ball out, and was wondering why, saw the reason as one of their players ended up being stretchered off.

I remember on Worldwide Soccer on the Dreamcast many strange things happening, though nothing beat this: I was playing against my mate and hie passed it back to his keeper. I slide in an attempt to win the ball but fouled his keeper. PENALTY shouted the commentator. The ball then moved up to MY penalty area where my mate had a penalty He then scored the penalty, only for the goal to be awarded to ME

Never seen it myself, but on early version it did seem very hard to foul the keeper. Worth it when you could mind.

            Happened to me once,

Very nice touch, I like the wierd comments about having sore thumbs after a 0-0 midfield tacklethon
