Hey cool, that may make you even more sought after! Maybe read some guides online, not sure of what there are. As far as the uk uni system goes there are what are know as red brick unis - manchester, leeds, bristol etc and all are very good, highly thought of, steeped in history and so on. (soory you also have oxbridge too), there are also lots of very well thought of unis like UEA, Essex, Exeter etc that are a bit newer but very very good. Employers love people from these places, they arew academic but also very social places with huge scenes in everything you could imagine and produce well rounded graduates - in the eyes of eomplyers. Now you also have new universities - the ex polytechnics. Some are good some aren't. Simple as that however (and trust me as I went to Manchster Met) there are absolutely loads of people out there who sneer at graduates form these. If you thinbk about it the reason is that the well thought of unis take better aplicants and therefore these are the sharper people. Simple. For a graduate HR bod with 10000 forms for 100 positions the first thing is A Level points then Unis so the bin everything below a threshold and take preferred unis. It isn't as simple as that and I know ex poly people who landed fantastic jobs on the graduate 'milkround' but they are often the exception.

The job market is soon going to be such that most people have degrees so there has to be a new differentiator. As far as game scompanies go, lots of the places love people with maths and physics degrees as they are best at the complexd maths. For the rest of the jobs it seems like a bit of a lottery. Guess this is why there are loads of absolutely cack games out there!

OK, sorry Scotland; St ANdrews and Edinbro' jump to mind as the best unis there are up there as memory serves me. Not sure if there's a GLasgow main uni or not, i think it's the university of Glasgow.

St Andrews,Edinburgh and Glasgow Uni are your best bets in Scotland. I went to St Andrews fairly decent course. Wanted to go into games coding but have ended up in games design.

I have a friend I went to St Andrews with, he decided to go and do the games tech course and Abertay and feels it been a waste of time.

trust me m8 the only bit they give a toss about on the ucas is your grades, put in some general rubbish about swimming ****e like that

theyre going to care more about the fact you can read and write than if your a arsenal fan who collects human hair

Thread from the dead. Well after all that fuss I've finally decided on going for the computer animation/multimedia course at Paisley. I'm hoping something good will come out of it in the long run but more importantly, I'm hoping it'll be fun! Maybe I can get into game testing and work my way up from there.
