There's absolutely no way Shane is going to do anything other than get caned when they have their VF5 match - regardless of the extra training Mielke is putting in!
Not one of the better shows for me, but nice to see some more GoW2 (Isn't it always?). Looking forward to the 1Up Yours podcast now though, it's just the best gaming podcast ever.

1Up Show 5.6 (Virtua Tennis 3, Wario, Last Hope, Konami Shooter Collection, Forza 2)
VT3 is looking good, can't wait for that.
Forza 2 looks meh to me. I dunno, after playing GT:HD, Forza looks kinda pedestrian, aesthetically at least.

Looks like they're committed to getting 1UP Yours and The 1UP Show out at more international friendly times now.
This week's 1UP Show looks like a good one: Cooking Mama (Wii), Shadowrun, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and a little VF5 tournament that seemed to have disappeared off the radar. Anyone who listened to last week's podcast will know what turn that took

Incidentally, 1UP Yours should be hilarious because apparently this clip gets some airtime. I'm saving it for my walk home from work tomorrow, though.

Aye - going on about how the gaming press shouldn't preview games. Then trying to justify his argument.
I agree to certain extent, but that's what PR is ... gamers want to know about games, but devs don't have to show games, so the argument was somewhat moot.Last edited by MartyG; 23-03-2007, 20:30.

I agree broadly in priciple that the press pre-judge games far too early, but the outlandish thinly implied accusations of corruption and conspiritorial "everyone's out to get me, you'll all pay and my games are the saviour of the industry" did not leave the a detached listener such as myself with a great impression.
I loved Eternal Darkness and I believe MS' quality control and Silicon Knights skill level will most likely mean Too Human won't be a stinker, but the broad, frothing generalisations and ego-stroking left me bemused.

I listened to that episode, yeah. He seemed to be talking nonsense for the entirety of the podcast (And Mark MacDonald sounded embarrassed to be arguing about it with him), but literally his last sentence in the game made it clear what he was getting at.
It does make sense when you think about it. Putting an unfinished product up for scrutiny is very backwards in comparison to how the other media industries do it (And EGM in particular have covered the last few E3s with a mindset that they're going to be honest about the state of the game rather than just making excuses for shortcomings with 'it'll probably be fixed when the game ships' comments) but, regardless of what he thinks, it's not going to change any time soon I doubt.
