PS2 Online Games - Any that aren't rubbish?

I've had a look at the (admittedly rather large) list of PS2 online games, and can't help but feel disappointed at the amount of stinkers. There isn't really a single game that I can see (bar the Burnout ones, and some sports titles which arne't my bag), that are highly rated.

I've played Burnout 3 online and it was amazing, the EA system seems very slick, and all the more impressive considering it's free! I'm not big on sports games, or FPS's but do like driving, adventure, and stealth games. Any online gems I may have missed?

The games I have in my collection are on my homepage.

I used to play Socom 2 online pretty much every day for months before my PS2 broke, since getting a new one I've never really got around to playing it again. However I loved it and highly reccomend it.

      Hardware Online

Also Monster Hunter was very popular but I didn't get along with it.

I might go for Socom 2 actually, good shout. Hopefully I'll get my PS2 Online welcome pack and will try Hardware Online. What's Monster Hunter?

Monster Hunter is (apparently) a bit like Guild Wars, but humans vs big dragons only. It came out before IIRC, so maybe GW nicked ideas off MH. There should be a Monster Hunter 2 out before too long, but 1 still has a lot of dedicated players, and is much more newbie friendly than some other games.

The main problem with the PS2 online is finding other players to play with. I tried some games that seemed fun, but lack of support killed them off; Racket and Clank 3 for example.

SOCOM 2 is still popular, but support is dropping (SOCOM 3 due in Feb 06).
Champions of Norrath had a good following for a while (poor lobby though).
TOCA 2 allows for some challenging driving - just dont play with nobs that dont actually race.
Resident Evil: Outbreak File 2 is hilarious online. Or at least with my buddies that regularly seem to get turned into zombies and then gleefully jump on you!

There's a slew of FPSs but of course you've said no to them.

WRC4 was fairly good - but that was 12 months ago

Mortal Kombat: Deception ain't all that bad either. I am guessing that no-one actually plays it online any more though.

Totaly agree, this is the game of the moment over at our clan http://www.oaps.org/main/ with over 45 of us currentley playing this, deffo the best game on the ps2 for online at the moment. I've played the pc version quite extensivley and while the pc version has a comander mode and the ability to fly about in jets and look's a lot nicer on my GT6800 this game is still pretty dam close playwise on the ps2, and considering the ps2's age i was quite suprised that it could still push this sort of stuff about.

hats of to dice then, No lag, big solid levels, tanks jeeps and choppers, 24 players at once, nice servers and the ability to set up clans, add in a medal and ranking system that works and that its free to play online, and you have a great ps2 network game

Pro Evolution Soccer 5 & NFL Blitz - The League; these are the only two games I play online and both work flawlessly, not an ounce of lag. Without multiplayer id bearly touch these two titles. Only downside to PS2 online is the market place as it is a right pain in the rump.

Where can I find that list with all online PS2 games?
If there are any 2D Beat?em Ups with online modes on the PS2 I might consider getting a network adapter...

                            Edit:

Unfortunately no online 2D fighting games for the PS2 ...
