sucker for limited editions?

If I'm after a game and there is a limited edition, then I have to the limited edition. No matter how useless the extras are.

The segadirect site is torture... their games are difficult to get, and usually come with a mobile phone strap, mouse mat, or t shirt. Or some other piece of exclusive pap

Am I alone in this?

Godzilla VMUs (Mothra and Godzilla). They have mini games on them that I will never play. ever.



Virtual On Marz pack. Not such a bad choice, but I'm unlikely ever to unwrap the mouse mat or dog tag.

Im not so much bothered by limited edition games, however I love limited edition consoles. So far, I own a Silver PS2, Sakura Pink PS2, Panasonic Q, Platinum Gamecube, Biohazard Dreamcast, Japanese Green see through Xbox, Snes JNR and Victor Saturn. Whilst not all of these are strictly limited edition, they are varients of the main production run. I guess I am a sucker for them.

I do love my limited edition stuff but I can't afford it. I like looking at it though....

If I earned enough, I know I would be a sucker for this sort of thing. At the moment I'm mainly into Japanese Anim? and the various games and titbits that are spawned from them!
It's terrible as some of the stuff is sooooo useless. I still want it though!

Yeah its really silly. I avoid clothes with a label like the plague. I don't want to be giving free advertising to the company who made the t shirt I paid too much for.

That all goes out the window when HMV give away a crappy MSR watch with the game. I could have got it ?5 cheaper elsewhere too, doh. What am I thinking, 'OMFG!! R@RE!!!!'?

I'm the same with DVDs, 'limited edition postcards you say? Why certainly I'll pay ?3 over the odds for that privilege' or 'mmm, slipcase'.

Somehow I've managed to avoid limited edition consoles so far.

I think its because the price difference is really big compared to limited edition games. For a game you might spend upto 50% extra for a ltd edition, but for consoles it always seems closer to double.

Also, I don't really sell stuff, so I wouldn't get rid of my 'normal' consoles.

Having said that, I really like the look of the spice cube, and at the moment I'm trying to resist justifying buying one for the gba player, even though I have a Q.

Hmm, Q is a kind of limited edition I guess. Bit more that a new paint job though

yes im a sucker aswell. I had to search high and lo for a limited edition green xbox in my town with all the main shops being sold out. in the end i found one at Toys R Us. All shops stocked the black xbox but i simply didnt want it because "everyones got one"

I have to have something different so i got a green ltd edition xbox yesterday.

The only remotely special edition things I own at the moment is are a Panasonic Q and a Godzilla VMU for my DC.

In the past I've owned a white VCD playing Playstation, Blue debug Playstation, This is Cool Saturn, Two tone JP N64 (iMac styled one), couple of Pokemon GBC's, Hello Kitty GBA.

Since getting married it's becoming increasingly harder to justify forking out lots of cash for limited editions :/

Although the wife didn't disagree when I suggested I replace my broken GC with a Q

Next stop - JP Limited Edition XB methinks...

i guess you guys will be getting th PSX then right? im a sucker for jap games. Mainly cos of the packaging, they are 98% of the time superior. and some times ill buy duplicates so i can unerstand the english version and not touch the jap ones. Its a waste of money, but satisfying at the same time. ive already go silent hill 1 three times! dunno why? and get this! the pal one is the most expensive one i own! go figure! im a real idiot at times cos even though i already own a Q, i had to get a normal GC jus so i dont wreck me Q in! bonkers!

I did the same. Had my Q out for a couple of months, then packed it away and got a Spice Cube to keep the Q 'safe'

Also have:
JPN Smokey Grey Xbox with 120gb HDD 8)
Nearly all coloured N64s (even with their ****ty composite only output ft: )
And my favourite SFC Junior
